THE OBJECTIVE:
The course is designed to teach the student the specifics of Blade making using high quality steel, installation of handles, brass and properly fasten to the blade stock. A"blade" making manual, is supplied for future reference. The class is design as hands on using a verity of power tools to remove stock to a final mirror finish from a pre-chosen pattern. A “must have introduction” of heat treatment is also included.
WHAT IS INCLUDED?
- basic blade (steel, handle and brass pins). Leather sheaths, brass bolsters and special etching are available (at additional costs).
-all shop consumables (includes: glue, sanding materials, heat treatment and shop tools , video
-stimulation of different blade making techniques and materials use with blade making
-blade making manual for future reference,
-sharpening tips, reference to sharpening and blade building tools.
WHEN ARE CLASSES?
Classes are usually weekends: 2 days, Saturday 8:30- 4pm, Sunday 8:30-4pm. (times are reduced in smaller class, phone/email for dates) or if preferred, other arrangements (Times) could be made. These are in Lethbridge, AB , Canada.
WHAT ARE THE COSTS?
