Description
We are looking for a skilled and energetic Breakfast Chef to join our kitchen team at Butterbites in London Ontario.
The Breakfast Chef is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality breakfast and brunch items in a fast-paced cafe environment, ensuring every guest starts their day with a great meal.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a full range of breakfast items including eggs, omelets, pancakes, waffles, sandwiches, pastries, and continental options to recipe specifications.
Set up the kitchen station before service and ensure all ingredients are prepped and ready.
Maintain consistent food quality, portioning, and presentation standards for every dish.
Monitor food storage and ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly labeled, and within safe temperature ranges.
Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines in compliance with Ontario public health regulations.
Accommodate special dietary requirements and guest preferences, including allergies and substitutions.
Control food waste, monitor inventory, and assist with ordering breakfast supplies.
Keep the kitchen, equipment, and work areas clean and organized throughout and after each shift
Support the kitchen team during peak hours and assist with menu ideas or seasonal specials
Perform all opening and closing duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a breakfast cook or line cook in a café, restaurant, or hotel kitchen.
Strong knowledge of breakfast and brunch cooking techniques (e.g., eggs Benedict, omelets, griddle work).
Food Handler Certificate or Safe Food Handler Certification (required in Ontario).
Ability to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and teamwork
Skills
Preferred:
Culinary arts diploma or certificate from a recognized institution.
Experience in a high-volume café or brunch-focused establishment.
Familiarity with local Ontario health and safety regulations.
