本研究項目的目的:
• 探索及了解華人家庭成員在支援患有邊緣人格障礙(BPD)的家人的經驗和挑戰。
• 提高華人社區對華人家庭照顧BPD患者經歷的認識。這項研究的結果將有助華人家庭以及為多元文化社區提供精神健康服務的人。
參加此項研究,您需要是:
• 18歲或以上, 能說粵語, 或普通話, 或英語的華裔人士
• 照顧/支援患有BPD的家庭成員, 並一起居住兩年或以上
• 居住在大多倫多地區(GTA)或安省南部
參與研究包括以下步驟:
• 最初30分鐘的電話交談, 以確認參與資格, 了解同意書內容, 以及安排訪談時間。
• 與研究人員進行1至2小時在線或面對面的訪談。訪談將被錄音。參與者將被問及與患有BPD家庭成員共同生活及提供支援的經歷。
• 後續的30分鐘電話談話, 用以澄清錄音記錄的內容。
所有收集的信息都被保密, 並且不會洩露任何個人信息。

Are you Chinese and caring for someone in your family with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)?
This study has been reviewed and approved by the Wilfrid Laurier University Research Ethics Board (REB# 8281)
The Objectives of this Research Study:
• To capture and understand the experiences and challenges of Chinese family members who support a person in their home who lives with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).
• To bring awareness of the experiences of families in the Chinese community who care for a person with BPD. The findings from this study will be helpful to Chinese families and to those who provide mental health care in this ethnic community.
To participate in this study, you are:
• 18 years old or above
• Of Chinese ethnicity who speaks either Cantonese, Mandarin and/or English
• Caring/supporting a family member with BPD living in the same household for more than 2 years.
• Living in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) or Southern Ontario
Research Participation Involves:
• An initial 30-minute telephone conversation to confirm participation eligibility, learn about the consent form contents, and interview arrangements.
• Attending to a 1-to-2-hour on-line or in-person interview with the researcher. The interview will be audio-recorded. Participants will be asked questions about their lived experiences in providing cares to their family members with BPD.
• A follow-up 30-minute conversation to clarify the audio transcript.
All the information collected will be kept confidential and no personal information will be disclosed.
