Rehoming my cat
Description
It's with a heavy heart i'm looking for a new home for my cat, Beans. My brother recently developed a massive allergy to her so i'm hoping to find her a home where she fits in more. We've tried cat shampoo, allergy pills for him, and just about everything you can think of but its not helping.
I think she's approximately 4 maybe 5 years old, found her as a stray. She's been a great mouser in our garage, once she warms up she can be cuddly and affectionate but she isn't a 'needy' cat. Rare find as she's usually extremely quiet, isn't a typical 'loud' cat, she's happiest spending her days exploring inside and watching out the window.
She's only ever been an inside cat, but she is leash trained to go outside. She recalls to her name better than most dogs do, a shake of her food dish also brings her running. She's interested in plants but won't destroy them, just likes to sniff them and inspect, has occasionally nibbled on a spider plant before but thats it.
Unlike many cats she isn't one prone to destruction - she's never sprayed, never scratched walls. Only ever scratched one piece of furniture and that was because her scratching post was being replaced.
We're not sure what breed she is, farm cat mix but we suspect bombay due to her small pocket companion like size.
She's not spayed yet, haven't found a good vet yet but she's great with cat carriers/kennels, has no issue with car travel. She's great with larger dogs of all energy levels, no idea how she is with smaller dogs, other cats or children but she'd likely avoid initially before slowly warming up to them. She's also been fine with reptiles and fish. Loves sitting in-front of the fish tank and watching our fish but she's never tried eating him. She's wickedly smart and enjoys a good mental challenge. The only fault she has is how curious she is of the outside world, but as long as she gets out on an occasional walk she's perfectly content inside.
We believe she'd do best as an only cat in a household looking for a quiet companion. If you want to come home and have another creature there who will greet you so you're not coming alone home? She's your girl. You want to go out hiking and exploring in the forests? She's right there with you. Busy days and long nights? She's content at home with her food and toys. Want a friend to join you on little walks in the evening or weekends? She's happy to come with, I used to question if she was part dog for how much she loves walks. We even believe she'd be a great garage cat as long as you keep her inside because she loves concrete, it seems to be her favourite texture. She'd come with whatever is left of her current food both dry and wet, litter, as well as her harness and leash. I'm looking for the right home for her so we will have a couple questions just to make sure she'd be a good fit with you
