Bee rescue. Swarm removal. Local beekeeper.
Description
The 2023 honey bee swarm season has started! During the active season, I remove honey bee swarms for free (April - July). I am a local beekeeper who will come out to remove the swarm and hive them in their apiaries where they have a better chance of survival. The best option to get a swarm removed quickly is to contact me by texting Your message (4039797879) and a few pictures to help with identification . Pictures are extremely helpful! So I know what equipment to bring and location of the hive or swarm cluster.
I can retrieve bees for free from trees, as well as man-made structures if they are on the OUTSIDE of it, example, stop sign, car, fence, outdoor furniture, side of a building, etc.
It gets more complex to remove when they have made a home inside of a structure, This is called a cut out and requires much more time and risk.
If you have bees inside a structure (porch, siding, house, shed, garage), please contact me for more information and a quote, as they are removed with special equipment. We do not remove honey bees that are located in the cavity of a standing tree, that is their natural environment and we urge you to leave them bee. If the tree has fallen or has been taken down by a tree company and easily accessible, we can retrieve those bees for free.
I USUALLY only handle honey bees as I am not an exterminator, however I can remove known wasp nests for $150 fee. I receive many calls for other species of bees which we usually do not handle, I will make an exception for bumble bee nests that are already located . I service MEDICINE HAT AREA & its surrounding towns and hamlets.
Don't spray any pesticide or any other chemicals. This could provoke the bees, and is completely unnecessary. Also, given the difficulties faced by all bees including honey bees, we need to take care to preserve the ones we have. We need the bees and there is opportunity for me to save them and move them to our working apiary. If they have already been sprayed please notify me as they will transfer the poison and kill other bees should I take them to my apiary.
Do not throw sticks, rocks or other items at the swarm in an attempt to drive it away! You'll only aggravate the bees!
I make every attempt to take the swarm and start up a new colony in a vacant hive, and the bees and our environment will benefit.
