30' C&C Mk1 1975 Bronte Harbour
Description
According to Steve Kiemele, of South Shore Yachts, "The 30 didn't need any changes, it held its appeal. This makes it `The Classic'." The 30 is generally described as an all round, user-friendly boat, forgiving, comfortable and easy to handle, with a reputation as one of the stiffest C&C ever built.
I bought her in spring 2018, and had the hull thoroughly checked before purchasing. It is solid fiberglass, built on Lake Ontario, and very reliable even in rough conditions. I am not a racer, more of a cruiser, and I was very satisfied with this boat on many levels. I want to upsize and move to diesel in training for deep water sailing. The boat is generally in good condition, and I have tested the PSI on the keel bolts myself. The mail sail has a little belly but it works fine. Self furling forward sail. The boat is rigged for spinnaker but I have two spinnaker sails that I have never used (I solo sail a lot).
Detail:
1. Fully functional original Atomic 4 engine.
2. Both midway porthole windows, starboard and port, need some attention. I am in the process of replacing them.
3. Radio, autopilot work, but the many other gauges have never worked since I purchased in 2018. I didn’t really need them for Lake Ontario, so I never bothered to look into what it would take to make them operational.
4. Mast step is being replaced
Great dock location at Bronte Outer Harbour, easy in and out. Purchase price includes 2023 dock fees and electricity.
