I just wanted to say THANK YOU Patricia Bayliss
Description
It was the mid 80's. You were an Elementary School Teacher @ Marvin Heights Public School (7455 Redstone Rd, Mississauga, ON L4T 2B3). Your name is Patricia Bayliss. You drove a red Toyota MR2. You were my grade 4 & 6 teacher.
I'm not even sure if you're still alive, but if you are...or....if anybody reading this knows about her, I just wanted to say THANK YOU MS. BAYLISS. You changed my life. For the better. Believe it or not, I even called the school up in the faintest of hopes that you would still be teaching there. LOL.
You made my life so much more bearable. I was under constant threat from my abusive father, but when I came to school (in your class),I could always breathe easier. I smiled. I laughed. You made me realize I wasn't a total failure. I used to be so shy & ashamed of myself. I had so much trouble making eye contact with others. I always thought I wasn't a good person, so I avoided all eye contact with others. I'll never forget what you did for me one day during recess.
You sat me down, and sat opposite of me. You told me to look you in the eyes. I was so nervous. I was scared. And you wouldn't let me leave until I mustered up the courage to make eye contact with you. And when I did, I was greeted with the warmest smile. And you said : "See? That wasn't so hard, now was it?"
I never felt so loved or accepted. I'm almost 48 and your kind actions are still with me. Thank you Ms. Bayliss. I love you, wherever you are.
