Cook Full Time
Description
We are looking for a full time Cook to join our team at Peoples Park Tower. Our Cooks are responsible for the preparation and cooking of lunch and supper for our residents. The successful candidate will have attention to detail, focus on quality and professional manner.
KEY ACTIVITIES
Prepares and cooks complete meals or foods such as sauces, soups, salads, vegetables, meat, poultry, fish dishes & desserts.
Ensures the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment.
Ensures the proper storage, handling and rotation of food, desserts & cleaning supplies.
Organizes workstations for each shift while maintaining a high level of productivity and sanitation at all times.
Address residents concerns in a positive and helpful manner and take prompt, corrective action where necessary.
Skills
Knowledge of proper handling and storage procedures for food.
A high degree of speed and precision is required to ensure the proper and timely production of food.
All communication with management, colleagues and customers must be conducted in a positive and professional manner.
Qualifications
Ability to work successfully while standing for long periods of time.
Ability to safely lift heavy objects in the day to day operations of the kitchen.
Flexibility with scheduling.
Must be able to provide a RCMP Criminal Background Check.
To be considered, the candidate must be able to work well as a team and work with safety and cleanliness in mind at all times. The candidate must also work well independently and with minimal supervision.
Our Dining Room is open 7 days a week. Cooks usually leave by 6:30pm.
