Pay 39.00-46.00 hourly

We are seeking a RDH to join our team. Increased demand and the introduction of the CDCP has created a need for us to bring on a new team member. Our new teammate can be casual to full-time depending on personal needs of the new team member. Pay and benefits are contingent on experience, hours and French/English ability.

The Dental Hygienist will report to the Director of Operations, and if absent, the Dentist he/she works with.
Job Overview
The role of the Dental Hygienist is an integral part of this organization. The Dental Hygienist will be able to appropriately assess, plan, implement and evaluate services for patient care. The Dental Hygienist will perform all aspects of clinical preventive hygiene services including scaling, root planing, periodontal screening and charting, polishing, topical fluoride treatment, x-rays and pit and fissure sealants and whitening to patients. Success in this position will be directly related to patient satisfaction (rebooking with the hygienist) and proper appointment booking and billing.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Appropriately assess, plans, implements and evaluates services for patient care
• Performs all aspects of clinical preventive hygiene services including scaling, root planing, periodontal screening and charting, polishing, topical fluoride treatment, x-rays and pit and fissure sealants and whitening to patients
• Serve as an oral health educator by introducing new preventative techniques and counselling
• Providing consistent patient experience during hygiene visit
• Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour
• Establish and retain patient loyalty by delivering a tailored experience based on the patients’ expectations
• Book, bill and manage patient appointments
• Demonstrate active listening and empathy to patients using effective communication skills
• Other duties as needed/assigned.
Qualifications
• Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Hygiene Degree program
• Registered and/or licensed by the dental hygiene regulatory authority within province; in good standing
• Valid CPR Certification
• An intermediate knowledge of ABELDent
• Excellent sterilization skills and habits
• An intermediate knowledge of Dexis
• Fully bilingual is considered a strong asset.
• More than three years experience is considered an asset.
