School Cafeteria Chef
Location Montreal Wesmount
Schedule Mon- Friday 6:00 - 2:00 or 7:00 3:00 ( no evenings or weekends)
Start date: to be discussed
Position Summary
You will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious, safe, and appealing meals for students and staff.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook daily meals
- Ensure food quality, portions control and presentation standards are met
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times
- Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations ( Mapaq license or similar required)
- Manage inventory, food orders, and proper storage of ingredients
- Minimize food waste and control cost
- Supervise and support kitchen staff and helpers
- Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies
- Assist with serving meals when needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Chef, or cook ( school or institutional experience an asset)
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work lead a small team and work independently
- Team player
- Food safety certification

Job description
- Assist with daily food preparation (washing, cutting, portioning ingredients)
- Help set up and serve meals to students and staff
- Wash dishes if needed
- Receive and organize deliveries
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards
- Support the Chef and kitchen team with daily tasks
- Ensure proper storage of food and supplies
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or food service experience is an asset
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong teamwork and positive attitude
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to lift light to moderate loads
- Standing for extended periods
