Looking for local help to assist with a two-month project located in Moose Jaw starting the first week of July.
The schedule is Monday - Saturday 10hr shifts.
**Potential to stay onboard but will require travel throughout Western Canada.

Job Description: Installs, repairs, and maintains railroad tracks on federal and industrial railroads. Performs all related maintenance to railroad tracks at specified locations for our customers. This is accomplished by performing the following duties. Other duties may be assigned as requested or required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Knowledge of and skills in hand tools, including wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, measuring tapes, etc.
• Knowledge of and skills in power tools and hydraulic equipment, including portable grinders, rail saws, spike pullers, track wrench machines, and power drills.
• Ability to apply common sense in safety-sensitive situations and understand detailed, written, or oral instructions.
• Ability to talk and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, foreman, supervisors, yard workers, and machine operators.
• Ability to see well enough to read operating and maintenance instructions, gauges, and dials on precision measuring tools.
• Ability to read and comprehend safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, test materials, drawings, schematics, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic shop math and calculate amounts such as area, circumference, length, distance, and volume.
• Ability to write legibly to complete routine reports and complete required testing.
• Knowledge of operating small power and hand tools to repair the track structure.
• Raise rail, using track jack, to facilitate removal of old tie and installation of a new tie.
• Drills holes through rails for insertion of bolts using a track power drill.
• Operates track wrench to tighten or loosen bolts at rail joints.
• Operates rail saw to cut rails to specified lengths.
• Operates portable grinder to grind worn ends of rails.
• You are required to use a shovel for ballast and other track debris.
• Drives company vehicles - driver abstract required.
• Performs other duties as requested or required by the foreman or supervisor.
Track Maintainers / Labourers may be trained to perform other duties.
Physical Demands: An employee must meet the physical demands described here to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. The candidate must be physically fit and withstand long working hours, regularly exposed to outside (extreme) weather conditions and elements, loud noise, and fumes from gas, oil, and grease.
