Dog for Rehoming
Description
Name: Arlo.
Almost two year old male dog for re-homing. Neutered; vaccinations up to date. Weighs approximately 80 lbs.
Needs to go to a home without cats.
Re-homing due to his constant 'hunting' of our cats. They were in the home when he came to us as a puppy but he's never gotten rid of his instinct to chase them. He is crate trained but sleeps in our bed with us at night. He stays in his crate when we go to work but max is 4-5 hours. He can be left out when we're not home if everything is put away - especially the garbage.
He is smart and catches on to things quickly. He knows "sit, stay, 'leave it'" and comes when he's called.
He does not like my husband or kids or grandchild to get too physically close to me. He doesn't hurt them but will insert his body between mine and theirs - with force. He is a very sweet affectionate dog though too! He loves kisses on his snout and to cuddle.
He walks fairly well on a leash with a harness. He will sometimes bark at other dogs and pull.
He loves to play fetch most of all and chew toys - need to be super durable though!
Due to some new health issues I cannot give him the attention and exercise he needs and my cats also need to no longer be hunted in their home.
Will send kennel and food with him.
