Job Description:Marine Technician/ Mechanic Read’s Precision Marine Services is an independent mobile marine repair service in Muskoka and Parry Sound areas.We are currently seeking an individual for a Marine Technician/ Mechanic and/or Apprentice position.Primary Responsibilities:Customer Service focus is number 1!Responsible for regular service and maintenance to outboard, inboard, and sterndrive engines and propulsion systems.Must be able to accurately diagnose faults in marine engines, boat systems and troubleshoot issues associated with outboard and inboard motors to meet client expectations and overall satisfaction.Clean boats and assist in deliveries.Service logs, winterize checklists and performance feedback to be accurately documented on all work orders. Responsible for work order parts pricing and work order updates.Maintain a running inventory of maintenance and repair parts for each work order; internal or external.Must be a competent and safe operator in all company vehicles and machinery.Perform minor repairs to work vehicles as required.Must maintain a clean and organized work area.Must be able to utilize, or willing to learn, electronic diagnostic software to assess and download motor report information.Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations during all maintenance activities on and off the marina property.Other duties outside of the above-mentioned responsibilities may be required as directed, including but not limited to awareness of parts pricing, customer communication, and other marina duties.Working ConditionsWill work five days per week. overtime work hours may be required including weekends and may be called upon in the case of mechanical emergencies.This is an hourly seasonal position that is full time between March and November, with potential for hours year-round for the right individual. Education and Technical SkillsGrade 12 or equivalentSound knowledge of all marine engines, recreational vehicles, small engines and shop-related equipmentMarine mechanic certification or marine mechanic apprenticeKnowledge of or willingness to learn electronic diagnosis softwareAll applicants must have a valid driver’s licence and have the ability to get to work independently.All applicants must also have a Pleasure Craft Operators Card (PCOC) Physical RequirementsLifting up to 50 lbsExcellent manual dexterityGood hand-eye coordinationJob requires kneeling, stooping, turning, twisting, and working in cramped or uncomfortable working positions.Job Types: Full-time seasonal, & Apprenticeship, with the opportunity of full-time year round.Salary: $18.00 to $40.00 /hourLanguage:English (Required) Job ID: 22684555
