FAR SOUTH Nanaimo preferred
On May 1st my living arrangement is coming to a close and I will be temporarily displaced until I can move into the camper van I am purchasing in installments. I'm new from Alberta and don't have many friends here yet.
Looking for a back yard to keep me safe from the homeless population. For free or for a reasonable price.
I am SOBER and have a respectable job. My work is close to the petroglyph animal hospital and I hope to be within walking distance of my work. (Or bussing) I work 2 or 3 days per week, about 14 hours each shift.
I have a one-person tent and my belongings will be in storage. I would appreciate access to a bathroom.
I'm 37, quiet, friendly, funny, respectful and honest.
Do NOT contact me if you're some dude wanting a hookup.
For more info contact me even if you have something that's not exactly what I outlined.
Thankyou

"One on its Own or Together as a Whole" is Brianne Siu's solo exhibition featuring new work produced at Nanaimo Ceramic Arts as their most recent Artist-in-Residence. Centred on the theme of play, Brianne uses coloured slips and clay to add a playful quality to her work.
This new body of work uses slip-casting as a method of making with a new set of moulds made at Brianne's previous residency at Medalta. The geometric and simple forms function well on their own and stack well together, inspiring the title of the exhibition. Their innate simplicity and repetition create a blank canvas to explore colourful and playful additions to each piece.
Catch the opening reception of this show at Nanaimo Ceramic Arts Studio and Gallery on April 28th, 2023 from 6-8pm at 140 Wallace St. The show will be open until May 13th, 2023 during regular hours. See you there!

Youth 20/20 Can, in partnership with the City of Nanaimo, presents The Wisdom of Trauma movie screening featuring Dr. Gabor Maté and a panel discussion with professionals.
In The Wisdom of Trauma, we travel alongside physician, bestselling author and Order of Canada recipient Dr. Gabor Maté to explore why our western society is facing such epidemics. This is a journey with a man who has dedicated his life to understanding the connection between illness, addiction, trauma and society. For over a decade he worked in Vancouver’s Downtown East Side with patients challenged by drug addiction and mental illness.
“Trauma is not what happens to you. Trauma is what happens inside you, as a result of what happens to you.” — Gabor Maté
The screening is on March 10, 2023, at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre. Doors will open at 5 PM, and the event will start at 5:30 PM. Following the 88-minute movie, we will have a panel discussion with professionals in the field.
We would like to thank Mosaic Forest Management for sponsoring the event.

On March 3rd from 6-8pm, join Jody Lewis and the NCA family to mark the opening of this gallery showcase.
Jody Lewis, maker behind Good Wheel Ceramics, took a road less traveled to find his way as a full-time potter. After completing his undergrad in biology and then starting his Public Health Master’s in 2018 Jody was introduced to ceramics and quickly became immersed. The obsession grew into a passion, and when the pandemic hit, his wife Robyn, encouraged Jody to use the time to create what is now Good Wheel Ceramics. This focused time in his studio allowed Jody the space to develop three distinct lines of pottery. Each line showcases a unique aspect of the artist’s creativity, from neutral minimalism, to island-inspired hues, to modern elegance. Good Wheel Ceramics is made up of dinnerware, dishes and homewares that contain cozy tactical feeling, while maintaining simple elegance.
In preparation for launching his production studio in Qualicum, BC, Jody has spent 4 month in an intensive Artist-in-Residency focusing on honing his product line and business. To celebrate the conclusion of his residency, he will be showcasing his work at the Nanaimo Ceramic Arts Gallery from March 3rd to 17th. Visitors to this end-of-residency showcase will have the opportunity to experience Jody’s work firsthand as well as exclusive opportunity to pre order dinner ware.

I am a professional, respectful, non smoking/drinking 30yr old woman who is recently on disability seeking a rental around 400-500$ max. I would be interested in a work trade opportunity of sorts, or just a cheap rent break would be appreciated.
I have my Social Services Diploma as well as having studied Energy Medicine. I'm experienced in many avenues and have a good set of skills/knowledge. I've worked in the cannabis industry for 10 years, home care for 3, pet care for many years, roofing and labour work for about 1 year, managing and running business/shop fronts for 3 years.
I am willing to participate in business and marketing, homesteading, home care, pet care, farming/gardening, building, and landscaping although my physical abilities are a bit limited atm as I heal from being poisoned for many years.
I have references upon request.
Please feel free to message me with any inquiries! :)
Thanks for your time and I hope to find something suitable asap on Vancouver Island.

Personally I've had enough.Of the official narrative and I am ready to play music again.
I don't want to or need to know what's on your medical record and I'd rather see your pimples than a f...g mask.
I am semi retired and play and have a bunch of instruments. I am not looking at turning this into a career but just simply meet, jam, connect, have a beer, a single malt occasionally.
And I have a small space to accommodate 2 more people.
Drop me an encouraging line and in the meantime have a listen to how my brain works.

Bo is looking for a pet cat to be his friend. Our older dog died a few weeks ago and Bo was devastated. He is lonely and sad about being the only animal in the house.
Bo is a very small three year old dog, he is gentle and affectionate. He really likes cats so we are hoping to find a young cat to be his friend.

Enter the Wisteria Community Association aka Stone Soup, one of
less than a handful of local not-for-profits who have stepped up to provide
a basic need for any of us – food and water. Each and every night this group
provides bagged dinners for approximately 150 unhoused people plus a bagged breakfast for those who
want one. They are also able to distribute things like vitamins, clothing, warm socks, shoes, sleeping
bags etc. that have been donated to them by those who care in Nanaimo.Up until December 3rd. the Wisteria Community Association was a regular feature on Wesley Street in Nanaimo, feeding the folks living rough there and others who knew where to come to obtain nourishment. As a result of a fire in some of the tents on December 3rd and the City of Nanaimo’s decision
to “evict” all the residents, during a pandemic, these folks have been displaced to other areas of Nanaimo,
making providing food that much harder. While donations of clothing, etc. and food are very much
appreciated, A much-needed kitchen has been leased for five years. Renovations are being done and
equipment is required. Some food must be purchased to supplement that obtained by donation. This will allow hot food to be given to people needing it, especially during the cold months of
winter. Expenses like these require financial help in the way of monetary donations.
Please help us to keep running this vital program, while plans are made by other organizations to end
homelessness, once and for all.

Genuinely seeking a friend. I could post on Facebook or something but I like that this is kinda anonymous. I don’t have any friends and I don’t mean to sound sad but I’m lonely. I’m a 28 yo female, I’m super nice and I smoke a lot of weed. I drink socially. I have a dog. I like going for hikes, watching Netflix, driving, going to pretty spots. Please no creepy people, I don’t have time or patients for that.
