Iron Workers Urgently Required
Description
FLINT is looking for Iron Worker to work on a Project based on a client site in Trail, BC. This position is expected to start from August 7th, 2023, to December 31st, 2023, with the potential to be transferred to future projects upon completion.

What would you be doing?
• Read blueprints and specifications to lay out the work.
• Unload and stack steel units so each piece can be hoisted as needed.
• Erect and install construction cranes, derricks, and other hoisting equipment.
• Assemble rigging (cables, pulleys, hooks) to move heavy equipment and materials
• Attach cables from a crane or derrick and direct crane operators with hand signals or radios.
• Position steel units, align holes, and insert temporary bolts.
• Check the alignments and join steel parts by bolting or welding.
• Assemble and erect prefabricated metal structures.
• Select, cut, bend, position, and secure steel bars or wire mesh in concrete forms to reinforce the concrete.
• Install ornamental and other structural metalwork such as curtain walls, metal stairways, railings, and power doors.
• Unload and install pre-cast components.
Does this sound like you?
• Provincially issued Journeyperson Ironworker Certificate.
• Must have all site-specific safety certificates including CSTS.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication required.
• Physically capable of performing all necessary duties of the job including but not limited to heavy pulling, pushing and lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing, shoveling, bending, twisting, etc.
Perks of the job
• Journeyperson $45.10/hr, DSP $54.36/hr.
• LOA $200/day.
• Benefits after+ 300 hours of work.
• Financial assistance provided for Apprentices working towards their Journeyperson certification.
Other important details
This position has been identified as a safety-sensitive position and will require completion of a drug and alcohol testing
