Beautiful Indian Ringneck Pair
Description
⭐️ Please read the entire description.
Meet Olive (female) and Oregano (male). These two Indian Ringnecks are believed to be between 7 and 9 years old. They are a bonded pair who have had babies in the past. They were sold to me as a “proven breeding pair” and I was planning to keep them as that. (Breeding pairs generally require less attention, so I thought that this would work out, but I have a needy, filled-to-capacity house, and they want to be pets.) While they have not produced for me (I haven’t had them for a full breeding season, yet) I was told (after purchasing) that they are known for kicking their babies out of the nest as soon as they’re hatched. Leading to natural death, or humans having to step in with around the clock care. Due to this, I don’t think they should be given the opportunity to reproduce. They would do best as pets.
I would consider them both “semi-tame” Olive WANTS to be a pet, but Oregano has proven to be quite protective of her. They will both “step up” when they feel like it, and enjoy being right beside you, if they’re not on you.
Olive is a sweet girl, who is curious but timid.
Oregano is a handful. He’s adventurous, does not scare easily, and has shown aggression towards me when Olive gets “too close” to me.
They are both food/treat motivated, and I believe hand-raised, so I know that proper training would go a long way.
They eat Tropimix, and really enjoy their “salad” aka “chop”. They’re on a 8am to 7:30pm daylight schedule, but will let you know if they want the lights out sooner. They sleep perfectly at night. They do their “flock call” usually twice a day, which is a loud few minutes, and therefore are not suitable for an apartment. Other than that, they are rather easy to take care of, and entertain themselves nicely all day.
They are very much attached to each other, and therefore I think they should remain together. They will likely both make awesome pets, if given the chance to spend one-on-one time with their human, separately.
They come with their huge cage as seen in the last picture, bowls, and most of the accessories.
Serious inquires only, please. I am picky, and will ask lots of questions.
There IS an adoption fee of $1500.
