millwright - straight afternoons
Description
Are you a licensed Millwright in the London, Woodstock or St Thomas areas looking for an opportunity to work in a Food manufacturing setting? This role is in a recession proof industry, and will allow you to further develop your skills as a tradesperson. If you don't have experience in the Food Industry, please still apply as food experience is not mandatory for this position.
Day Shift 6:30am to 3pm - Monday to Friday
$38 per hour to start
In this role you will be maintaining equipment such as:
- piston fillers, volumetric fillers
- scales
- kettles, cooling equipment
- extruders
- x-ray and metal detection equipment
- spiral freezers
- high speed packaging equipment
- sensors, control systems
Advantages

Responsibilities
- troubleshooting a variety of equipment
- assisting with implementing a preventative maintenance program
- willingness to learn
- self motivated and take ownership over your role in the organization
- set the example for production employees on the floor
Qualifications
- must have 433A Millwright license
- ideally you have experience in a food environment, but it's not required
- can handle minor electrical troubleshooting
- knowledge of refrigeration is a bonus
- ideally you can TIG weld, but at minimum have a strong knowledge of welding processes and are willing to learn
- have reliable transportation and be ok with a 30-40 minute commute
- able to work with a variets of common allergens, such as shellfish, mustards, nitrates
- able to work in a facility that has raw meats being cooked
