Placer Claim on Fraser River, roughly 2/3rds way between boston bar and lytton on the West side of the fraser river. Access via paved (10 km) and gravel (17 km) road from Boston Bar. Claim spans road and contains 3 private land titles. Two are CP rail, while 3rd is a private landowner. No buildings on site, no development other than rail line that passes through CP rail land at eastern one third. Land slopes gently for roughly 2/3rds then steeply to tracks and river. From tracks to river is about 100 metres as crow flies and about a 40 metre drop (see map and 20 ft contour lines for total elevation). We accessed the shoreline on foot from the upper road using deer trails and we packed our equipment in from an encampment on the crown land portion in the south west corner of the claim and parked our vehicle on the hydro right of way 100 metres to the south of the claim. Access is also possible (although notice to CPR would be required) using quads and the rail right-of-way from the Kiefers landing to the south (5.4 km along rail line) on the same side of the river (see map).
Only worked the claim for three days with shovel and pan. Lots of dust and small flakes at all locations tested from the river to the tree line. No excavation explored below 2 feet depth. No bedrock encountered. Lots of legacy gravel seen from river to top of escarpment. Rounded rocks seen at all levels but only shoreline panned/sampled.
Isolated location is good insurance against claim jumpers. Shoreline would also be suitable for access by jet boat or bass boat with high mount prop, although swift at this locale. Kanaka bar is only a short distance upriver and a boat could be launched there.
This claim is on Crown and private land and can only be purchased with a FMC if you have any questions feel free to text or call.$1800 obo
