LGBTQ Friendly Kung Fu in Lower Sackville
Description
Stay fit & Learn Kung Fu!
ZiRan Quan, which means Spontaneous/Natural Boxing, is a Daoist martial art. Unlike most traditional martial arts, ZiRan Quan does not rely on style or technique. It has no forms, Katas, or techniques of its own; rather, it places emphasis on the development of natural movement, spontaneous adaptation, intelligent instinct, & gaining the initiative.
XiangShan ZiRanQuan classes currently take place once a week in Lower Sackville, NS, on alternating Mondays and Tuesdays, from 7pm to 9pm at the Sackawa Canoe Club. The class is an LGBTQ friendly Kung Fu class and open to ages 16 and up. The cost is $5 per class.

Classes are two hours long. Although the class structure varies somewhat depending on the focus, classes generally start with a 10 minute martial cardio warmup, followed by 90 minutes of lessons and partner drills, and end with 20 minutes of sparring, conditioning or Qigong practice.
Christian Saint-Pierre started studying XiangShan ZiRan Quan in 2003. Having previously studied Wing Chun, Tai Chi & BaGua, as well as competed in SanDa (Chinese kickboxing), he immediately fell in love with ZiRan Quan’s simple yet profound concepts, training methods & progression. By applying his own knowledge and experience of martial arts, Chinese medicine, and teaching methodology, Christian continued to develop the curriculum and now teaches the art in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.
