Nugget
Description
Nugget is a beautiful and affectionate cat who will become very attached to her person and be your lifelong friend. She loves snuggles and attention, and is happiest sitting or lying on her owner and purring happily. She loves to hunt and will enjoy playing with little string toys. She has a taste for human food so she may try to swipe some cheese if it is in her reach. Nugget would be happiest in a quiet home without small children and ideally no other cats. Routine will be her preference as she often puts us to bed at night, meowing to remind hs we should be in bed. She has had a long life as a mother and would prefer to be the queen of the house, and be pampered. She loves chicken for a treat, and watching birds. Her favourite spot (aside from your lap) is a window perch so she can see the outdoors. Nugget is a very consistent litter user and has had no challenges with staying clean, a perk for a now older cat!
Challenging behaviours:
-food stealing (will rip open strong containers to get human food) although she is fed 3 times and gets lots of snacks. If we didnt have a young child we would simply put all food away but our 3 year old doesnt know and leaves his food around. It wouldnt be that big of a deal but she eats things that arent good for her like cheese and then gets diarrhea. Most recently she tore open a thick silicone case and ate a block of cheese.
-swatting and occasionally hissing at 3 year old, though from birth we taught him to give her space and he is very very gentle and respectful and mostly keeps his distance because she scares him.
-for the last two years she runs a specific loop in the house at night and this loop includes our faces while we sleep. We have read several cat behaviour books and tried the tips they suggest we took her to the vet (no issues), tried feliway in every room, and we even tried anxiety medication for a year with no improvement. I genuinely believe this would not be a challenge in a home without an infant - i think his cries stress her out. She was absolutely perfect before the baby was born 3 years ago.
-this one is not a challenging behaviour but she also wants constant snuggles which we can no longer meet her demand for so we feel like she would be happier in a home with a person who can give her undivided attention as she deserves.
