What will you do in this role?
Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes.
Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, taste, temperature, and presentation, ensuring that every dish served to guests meets the restaurant's standards.
Work on the line and lead by example, coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure that every person is working efficiently and effectively, establish a work schedule and provide training and feedback and retraining to the cooks as needed to improve their performance.
Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as necessary, ensuring the kitchen is always stocked with the ingredients and equipment needed to prepare dishes.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is well-maintained, properly cleaned, and in good working order, and coordinate with the maintenance team to perform repairs and upgrades as needed.
Collaborate with the restaurant’s front-of-house staff to ensure that service runs smoothly, communicating any special requests or dietary restrictions to the kitchen team as necessary.
Participate in regular team meetings and provide feedback to improve the kitchen’s operations and enhance the guest experience.
Uphold all health and safety regulations, and contribute to a positive team environment, motivating and encouraging staff to work to their fullest potential.
Expected Qualifications
Education background in food service administration, hospitality management, or a related field, or several years of experience in food preparation is preferred.
At least 2-3 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen environment, with a strong background in food preparation and cooking.
Experience in a supervisory or management role, demonstrating the ability to lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff while working collaboratively with the Kitchen Manager and other members of the management team.
A strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices and a commitment to upholding these standards in the kitchen.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to delegate tasks effectively, provide constructive feedback, and work collaboratively with other team members.
