Job Description:Important Information: Initially, clinical support will be provided to three clients located in Kitchener-Waterloo, Oakville and Guelph. The Behaviour Therapist will work 16-hours per week, with the opportunity to accept additional cases within the community to increase their weekly hours. Kitchener-WaterlooInitially, clinical support will be provided to the client within the Kitchener-Waterloo region in a hospital setting for a 4-month duration, at 8-hours weekly. Travel mileage will be reimbursed. Following the initial 4-months of clinical support, the contract will be extended, and the client will transition to a treatment home located in Oakville. Subsequently, the hours allocated for the Behaviour Therapist may increase. The services may be provided either in-person or remotely, dependent on the needs and treatment goals of the client. The Behaviour Therapist will ensure that they utilize effective time management skills to adhere to the on-the-floor expectations within the organization, of 80% of time worked on the floor and 20% of time worked completing administrative duties. OakvilleThe Behaviour Therapist will provide clinical support to the client located in Oakville, in a treatment home setting, at 4-hours weekly. The services may be provided in-person. GuelphThe Behaviour Therapist will provide clinical support to the client located in Guelph, in an independent living setting, at 4-hours weekly. The services may be provided either in-person or remotely, dependent on the needs and treatment goals of the client. The Behaviour Therapist will ensure that they utilize effective time management skills to adhere to the on-the-floor expectations within the organization, of 80% of time worked on the floor and 20% of time worked completing administrative duties. Position Summary: As the Behaviour Therapist you will work under the clinical guidance of a Clinical Coordinator and Psychologist. Following the direction of the Clinical Coordinator, the Behaviour Therapist will work with community agencies and/or designated individuals and develop and implement behavioural intervention programs and skill acquisition protocols that are individualized to each client. Duties and Responsibilities: · Conduct functional behaviour assessments and functional analyses as appropriate · Develop, monitor, and supervise the implementation of behaviour clinical support plans for each individual, breaking down larger goals into phases of acquisition and create interventions for reduction in challenging behaviour based on the principles of ABA · Develop and implement skill acquisition programs that utilize effective teaching strategies based on the principles of ABA · Coach Behaviour Therapist Assistant’s and Behaviour Support Specialists to implement behaviour support plans and teach the strategies outlined in skill acquisition plans · Conduct Treatment Integrity Checks (TICs) to ensure the consistent/accurate implementation of the Behaviour Clinical Plans (BSP) · Model and coach staff in their interactions with clients while engaging in programming · Input data, create charts/graphs, and interpret data to guide clinical decision-making · Model professional and compassionate care with a focus on least restrictive and positive behaviour supports to empower choice and freedom · Recommend additional treatment by other professionals as indicated · Ensure that clinical documentation is current and complies with established standards · Communicate regularly with the clinical director especially as it relates to concerns with the community agency or individual served · Attend and prepare required reports for clinical supervision and case conferences within identified timelines with clinical directors, caregivers and/or community partners · Participate in required training with no expectation of payment · Maintain designation and stay current on best-practice and ethical practice · Invoice for services provided according to contractual requirements · Provide the necessary tools to perform the job duties · Promote the services offered by PLA to the community · Communicate any concerns regarding conflict of interest immediately to the clinical coordinator · Administer ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP, AFLS, and others · Create and implement Educational Routines (ERs) and Skill Acquisition Programs (SAPs) · Train Behaviour Support Specialists and Behaviour Therapist Assistant’s on Skill Acquisition Program implementation · Report data to Skill Acquisition Program Consultant (SAPC)/ Dr. Linder · SAP problem solving re: acquisition and retention of skills with clinical team and SAPC · Curriculum planning/ mapping (i.e., determining short- and long-term skills goals) with clinical team and SAPC Requirements: · A master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis or Psychology · The candidate must have a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) Certification or must prove that this certification is underway · A valid Standard First-Aid + CPR-C certification · Vulnerable Sector Check · Crisis Intervention Training (will be provided by Safe Management Group Inc. upon employment) · A valid G-Class Driver’s License, with a reliable vehicle and automobile insurance · Professional Liability Insurance · Membership in good standing with the Ontario Association for Behaviour Analysis (ONTABA).
