Creative Writing Groups in Toronto
Description
Covid-19 has given some people more time for creative pursuits. For others, the need for such an outlet has increased. We’re meeting online now.
Give your muse some encouragement. Join an ongoing writing group for adults. In these groups, we write together on prompts for specified time periods, and then read the fresh, unedited material aloud. Writing practice moves us through the whole gamut: hilarity, emptiness, boredom, delight, fear, mud… increasing access to the imagination. Through ‘writing immersion’ we’ll uncover the power of plunging into uncensored inner, away from the restrictive demands of ego. The process carries us into raw unperfected ground, where the unexpected surprises. The work is an excellent adjunct for those involved in their own personal growth. This class benefits both aspiring and experienced writers, or those who may be feeling unsupported and unfocused in their creative efforts. First 6 week series $200. 3 options: Tues 1-3:30 pm, Wed 9:30-noon, or Thurs 7-9:30 pm
New registrants are welcome to begin at any point, space permitting.
