Our discus are a highly regarded captive-bred strain, raised in Toronto. They are known for their robust health, adaptability to standard tap water, and suitability for community aquariums. Compared to many Asian-bred discus, they are generally easier to keep, making them a great choice for both beginners and experienced hobbyists.
With proper care, they can live up to 10-15 years and grow to around 7-8 inches.
Hardy and easy to maintain
Locally bred in Toronto
Same feeding, same care, same warranty as all our strains Many customers love that our babies are aggressive eaters and very hardy when given proper care.
We provide a 12-day warranty on feeding: if the fish does not readily accept frozen brine shrimp (Hikari brand) under appropriate tank conditions, we will work with you on a solution.
Our fish are not hormone-treated.
Fish that have received hormone treatment often show red eyes and unusually shiny coloration at a very small size.
Hormone treatment may cause stunted growth later in life and can lead to potential breeding or health issues, according to various online research sources and AI-based studies.
In today’s market, there are also many so-called “papa discus” or “granny discus” being sold as small fish around 2–3 inches. In reality, these fish are already mature and will not grow much larger, even though they are being sold as if they are still young.
How can you recognize them?
Normally, a 2–3 inch juvenile discus should only have light coloration and developing patterns. If a small discus already shows very strong color and fully developed patterns, it may actually be an older fish that has already reached maturity and will not grow much further.
Sometimes these fish are also treated with hormones to enhance coloration at a small size.
Because of these practices, the overall quality of discus in the market has been declining in recent years.

Beautiful Blue Diamond Discus juveniles (Giant Egg / Big Ball type) are now ready for new homes!
These healthy young fish are approximately 1–1.25 inches and are already beginning to show the classic solid blue coloration that Blue Diamond Discus are famous for.
⸻
⭐ Feeding & Health Information (Very Important)
The juveniles we are offering are already trained to eat a variety of high-quality foods and show strong feeding responses. Based on our daily observations, they are strong, active, and easy to care for.
They currently accept:
• Small pellets
• Beef heart
• Live brine shrimp
• Frozen brine shrimp
• Frozen bloodworms
This makes them much easier for both beginners and experienced hobbyists to raise, as they adapt well to different feeding routines.
⸻
⚠️ Important Information for Buyers
Blue Diamond Discus come in many different body types.
The batch we are offering is the Giant Egg / Big Ball type, bred from larger, rounder-bodied parents. These fish are known to grow bigger, thicker, and more solid than standard Blue Diamond strains.
This body shape is highly preferred in the market for its strong presence, excellent growth potential, and show-quality appearance.
⸻
