Job Description:# 19398 - Bev123 Data Architect - Senior Contract (6 months w/a possibility of extension Mississauga, Toronto, and Ottawa Remote for now but selected candidate would have to come on site on ad hoc basis as required 37.5 hours/week DURATION AND POTENTIAL START DATE Starting Date: 3-Jan-2023 Ending Date: 7-July-2023 – possibility of extension SCOPEWorking in the Data Analytics Team under Enterprise Architecture, the Data Architect provides consultation and expertise to drive the data architecture function.- Integrate data from our source systems and DataLabs into our Teradata Data Warehouse ensuring best practices and standards are followed. - Work with end users to understand business requirements and identify appropriate data solutions. - Participate in the development, evolution and oversight of the overall vision for Information Lifecycle of the corporation and clients by collaborating with management, staff and stakeholders on data strategy, architecture, rationalization, quality and analytics to support strategic business initiatives DUTIESLead Data Solution definition: review design artifacts, develop POC solutions, determine, understand, and validate data and requirements with close collaboration with Data Governance, Business Stakeholders and Innovapost PartnersMaintain and support data architecture framework, patterns and principles, naming conventions, datatype standardsProvide Data Sizing estimates by providing data growth and volume estimates in a timely mannerContribute to project estimates by documenting Data Architecture deliverables, conditions for completion, and assumptions taken for the estimateIdentify Domains, create Database Objects, Logical Data Models, Physical Data Models, generate DDLResponsible for Data Profiling of new proposed data as well as an understanding of existing dataResponsible for all project design documentation for development initiatives including Project Briefings, Functional Designs, Technical Designs, Data Transformation rules, information required for Handover to SupportEnsure the Delivery Teams are fully supported through the project lifecycle and fully understand the design of the solutionCollaborates and provides guidance to the broader architecture community and delivery teams on data integration standards and best practicesSupport Data Governance: understand data governance rules, catalogue data, metadata management, impact assessmentsWork with our Business Partners and Support team(s) to triage data integrity issuesSupport software and hardware upgradesCollaborate with Data Governance to ensure the Safety and Soundness of our Data by ensuring proper security is in place according the Classification rulesMetadata Management in accordance with DGO standards SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES Must Have:The Hiring Manager is looking for someone with 10 + years of experience as Data ArchitectUnderstanding of Data Integration Frameworks and PatternsClient Management: consolidate business data requirements and translate into sound data architectureData Management: design, development, and maintenance of enterprise level data systemsExpertise in data standards and data management skills including data modeling and information integrationSolution design: workflow concepts and integration of data in a cross application environmentApplication development concepts: familiar with System Development Life Cycle, design, and development of data delivery services within medium to highly complex application environmentsConsiderable experience in a variety of Relational Databases and understands data at an Enterprise levelAbility to understand the impact of a change at an Enterprise level (Impact Analysis)Sees the bigger picture and designs solutions with the Enterprise in mind, and not just at the Project levelTeradata expertise Nice to have:Knowledge of data capabilities, functions, features and facilities of relevant application platforms (e.g. Client Vision, Frontier, SAP)Stored proceduresTeradata Utilities Soft Skills:Team playerAbility to communicate technical information to a non-technical audienceAbility to prioritize conflicting prioritiesAbility to work in a fast-paced agile development environment How to Apply Click the “Apply to Job” button and follow the instructions to submit your resume or contact: Raine Perez at mperez@bevertec.com or 416-695-7525 ext 2270 Thank you for your interest in your next great opportunity with Bevertec.
