Cleveland Bay stallion standing - "2018 Sire of the Year"
Description
Forest Fellow was named "2018 Sire of the Year" by the Cleveland Bay Horse Society of North America! This was for his progeny who competed and accumulated the most high points for performance in the CBHSNA's 2018 Performance Awards program in North America.
Forest Fellow, English import, pure Cleveland Bay stallion standing at stud live cover near Dawson Creek in Pouce Coupe area, B.C., licenced for pure and partbred breeding, 17.1 hands, substantial and magnificent, huge bone, nice short cannons, excellent large feet, no draft blood, a breed (not a Warmblood), prepotent, no spook, quick heart recovery rate for endurance, lengthy stride, and bay of course.
Fellow is PREPOTENT. He produces sporthorse types, with bone, height, substance, good feet and he improves most mares. All crossbred foals are registerable as Cleveland Bay partbreds, which are registerable down to 1/8th blood.
Traditional breeding has been to TB mares to produce sporthorses, however, CBs are crossed with Morgan, STDBRD, TW, QH and other stock horse types with much success as well, and they can go any which way: western, English, and driving. Most offspring are not spooky (great for driving), and they usually make bold jumpers, three-day eventers, dressage horses, and fox hunters. They are a working horse, similar to a working dog. They love to do anything interesting, so if you like trail riding, your CB will bond to you in an instant. Pack a fanny bag and head out for the day.
The Cleveland Bay is one of the heaviest boned of the light horse breeds, producing an economical long and ground-covering saddle horse gait, and not a pounding draft gait. One of the rarest of the rare breeds; if you produce a CB partbred it will therefore also be very rare.
$1000 stud fee, in-hand breeding, live foal guarantee, stand and suck.
I have CB partbreds for sale from weanling up, many of which are not started yet. Visitors welcome by appointment to have a look at them.
