Everyone's journey with mathematics is different. What matters most is not the solution to a problem but your understanding of how you got there. Knowing that, you will then be able to discover the true wonder of mathematics that is daring to ask questions of your own and pursue it yourself.

The Peterborough Immigration Partnership is seeking expressions of interest from qualified individuals
to provide English language instruction for our English in the Workplace Program (EWP).The Peterborough Immigration Partnership (PIP) is a community-based partnership of individuals and
organisations (including the New Canadians Centre) which envisions a community where the meaningful
economic, social and cultural integration of newcomers ensures a prosperous and inclusive community
for all. As part of our strategy to build community capacity to facilitate newcomers’ integration, PIP is
seeking expressions of interest from qualified applicants to provide English as an Additional Language
(EAL) instruction for the English in the Workplace Program (EWP).Organized by PIP and in collaboration with local employers, the English in the Workplace program is a
customized training program for adult students to strengthen their on-the-job English language skills.
The EAL instructor will design and deliver in-person individual or small group classes that focus on the
English language and communication skills newcomers need at their workplace. They will assess the
needs of EAL students and collaborate with the PIP team and employers to plan lessons for students.
The EAL instructor will also be expected to report and provide documentation of the program to the PIP
officer as required. This is an independent contractor role, not an employment role.

Come and learn the Royal Game! Children, Zoomers, and everyone in between and beyond are welcome.
My name is John Carter, and I am offering one-on-one in-person chess lessons at my home here in beautiful Peterborough.
I have many years of experience playing chess and hold a degree in Biochemistry and Mathematics from the University of Toronto.
Maybe you want to give your child an edge in life by learning chess. It is more than just a game. It helps to train the mind to deal with complex situations, enabling one to think critically and analytically. There is a reason why it was included in the classical education of the "upper-crust" of society in the past. Of course it's enjoyable too!
Maybe you are retired and finally have the chance you've been waiting for to learn this, the greatest of games. Come on over!
Maybe you just want a partner to play some over-the-board chess with. I'll give you a run for your money!
$35/1-hr session
$60/2-hr sessionWeekdays 9am - 3pm
Saturdays 9am - 3pmI look forward to hearing from you. Just leave me a message on the right side of this ad.
Enjoy your day!

I am offering tutoring services in Chemistry (elementary, high school, college, or university level), or general personal tutoring to help your child catch-up with their classroom work, in general. These general areas could be reading, writing, math, etc.
After the past 15 years instructing various college/university chemistry courses, it has become apparent that many students benefit from one-on-one instruction in order to fully grasp the subjects that they are learning. I have tutored students for the past 20 years and have a passion for learning and instilling that same interest in those that I work with.
I offer tutoring sessions either through a virtual, on-line space, or in-person, where I can travel to meet at your home or other chosen location. Tutoring sessions can be booked as single sessions, or I can work with you to set up a series of sessions to meet your specific goals.
Please reach out so that we can discuss your specific goals.
Single sessions:
Virtual - $25/hour
In-person - $30-35/hourSeries of sessions - Contact me for personalized packages.

Tutoring for little kids, and bigger kids too.
No matter the age or the topic...
I Make Learning Fun
Tutoring doesn't mean help your child get a correct answer.
It means help your child learn how to get the correct answer.
My tutoring will make a difference, Guaranteed
Whether your teenage son is having trouble with math, or your pre-school daughter needs help with colors and shapes, I can make a difference.
Whether your child needs outside help, or just needs some one on one time that you don't have time for, I am here for you, and for him/her.
One time help, or ongoing
Contact me to arrange an interview. We will figure out how much help is needed, and the best way to help your son or daughter.
I start with an initial assessment which is free, then we discuss the needs, and see if your child wants me to teach him or her. If so, we schedule the first session and I put together lessons. Pay for the first session AFTER it is done, and only if you and your child are happy. Tutoring can be done at your place, my place, or anywhere in Peterborough, like at the public library.
At the initial meeting, I will find out what is needed and plan my sessions. Most of my tutoring lessons are put together from scratch, and are often customized for your child. I also make the lessons fun, especially for younger children, and little breaks are taken as needed to keep them going. Before starting any tutoring, I find out what your child needs help with, and some of his or her interests. I then prepare to make learning fun by incorporating his or her interests into the lessons.
We will decide on one or two sessions per week and how many weeks you want to go. There is no commitment, but there is a discount if you prepay for several sessions. 20% off if you prepay for 4 or more sessions, plus, prepaying reserves your slot for as long as you choose.
No payment is due until after the first session, unless we decide to do no further sessions.
I also offer limited free tutoring, or alternative pay methods, for those who can't afford to pay. Just let me know when you contact me.
Prices:
My place, minutes west of Peterborough
1 hour session - $20
2 hour session - $35
Your place, or anywhere in Peterborough
