Journeyperson Carpenter/Team Leader

Job Description:The person in this position possesses the full range of knowledge of materials, methods and tools required to construct, install, renovate and repair residential (some commercial) structures constructed of wood, steel, concrete and other materials using carpenter’s hand tools, power tools and equipment. Studies blueprints, sketches or building plans to determine specifications and calculate requirements. Duties & Responsibilities:Erect wood framework walls, partitions, and raftersInstall doors and windows, floor coverings, ceilings, trimsBuilds stairsBuild forms for concreteLays flooringInstalls cabinetryWorking from blueprint instructions from supervisors does layout-measuring, marking and arranging of various construction materialsCut, shape and joinChecks accuracy of work and makes adjustments as requiredStudies blueprints for work planningErects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levelActs as team leader, supervises onsite staff, and mentors apprentice carpentersInforms immediate supervisor of issues or defects and/or takes appropriate measuresValid Saskatchewan driver's licence and a reliable vehicle to get to job site Education/Experience: Journeyperson status with at least 3 years experience OR an equivalent combination of 6 years of experience, training and education.
