Farm Equipment Operator

Jaran Farms, a family-owned grain farm located in Leask/Shellbrook, Sask, is currently seeking applicants for a seasonal/full time position as an Agricultural Equipment Operator and driver. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily farm operations including but not limited to operating farm equipment, hauling grain, and maintenance of both farm equipment and other areas of the farm. As a quality contributor, your voice will assist in growing and developing the farm. This is a seasonal position that can become full time for the right candidate and could grow into a leadership role.

Essential Functions:
• Operate farm equipment, daily tasks including but not limited to tillage, seeding, spraying, harvesting, grain hauling
• Maintain equipment, including daily preventative and winter repair and service
• Use technology software for efficient task completion and accurate data collection
• Participate in inventory management and communicate needs with a supervisor
• Provide suggestions for improvements that will create greater efficiency of farm operations
• Maintain appearance of farm and landowner properties, as assigned

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Class 5 driver’s license required (Class 1A preferred)
• Experience in grain farming required, with experience in late model equipment
• Experience using GPS technology preferred
• Knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance preferred
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work longer hours during critical seasons
• A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and self-motivation
• Leadership experience preferred
• Passion for agriculture and a willingness to learn.

Compensation Package:
Starting wage will be contingent upon experience. There will be periodic salary/wage reviews and the ability to move within the salary scale.
