Ram Lamb Bottle Babies
Description
NOTE: I would prefer to keep these two until they were yearlings. However, despite trying to take a year off lambing, we have lambs this spring. I am trying to focus on other aspects of our farm, so finding good homes for the little guys would be ideal.
Two of my Katahdin ram lams born this week are likely going to need bottle feeding until they are weaning age. They were in a set of triplets, one did not survive birth. They are 5lbs and 8lbs, both drinking (tube fed and now bottle) and walking. They have had their newborn lamb dose of vitamins and minerals. They have a lot of growing to do though and need frequent bottles and occasional warming in these cool temperatures.
$100 for the pair as they need a companion. If you have other lambs for it to socialize with I will consider splitting them up.
Pros: Katahdin sheep don't need shearing but rather shed in the spring (except newborns). Also, this breed is natually parasite resistant. These ramb lambs love to cuddle under a heated blanket, and are quite calm inside if you needed to keep them in the house while they were being bottle fed. I diapered them both while they were getting treatments inside for ease of cleaning. They need size three or four diapers as the size 2 are a slight bit to small.
