Participants Needed for a SK Long Covid Research Study
Description
We are seeking adults to participate in a study investigating lung function, physical activity, and quality of life post-COVID. You are invited to participate if you:
Are 18+ years of age and currently live in a Saskatchewan community
Have had COVID-19 in the past
Have experienced any severity of shortness of breath (Dyspnea) in the past month
As a participant in this study you will be asked to ...
Complete a series of questionnaires over the phone
Complete spirometry and several tests in person that assess your lungs and ability to do different physical activities
Repeat the tests described above after 6 months
Testing will take place across Saskatchewan ...
Testing will be at the University of Saskatchewan and in other SK communities based on participant availability. We will set up a mutually agreed appointment and location.
There is no guarantee of direct benefit to you from participating. We will provide a summary of your personal test results with a brief interpretation. This information may be useful to you in managing your health or seeking assistance from medical professionals like your family doctor.
Your participation will be voluntary. You will be compensated for your time. You can choose to answer or complete only those tests that you are comfortable doing. You can also choose to withdraw from the study at any time without consequences.
This study has been reviewed and approved by the University of Saskatchewan Biomedical Research Ethics Board (BIO REB #3594). The research is funded by the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF) and is being led by Dr. Donna Goodridge.
