6 Years Old/Female - Whisper - FREE TO A GOOD HOME
Description
Hello, I am regrettably looking to rehome my beloved furred friend Whisper.
I got Whisper roughly when she was 6 months old on this very website 5.5 years ago. She was advertised as "Country Girl Seeks City Life" for the fact that she was originally a barn cat, but due to mistreatment from her littermates she was forced to survive on her own. This resulted in Whisper being a runt, and stunted a bit in her growth making her a smaller cat. Despite this she is healthy and very lively, she may be a bit timid at first but once she warms up to you she is a very loving and playful cat. Due to her upbringing, Whisper has a strong dislike of other cats and it is unlikely she is to get along with another feline friend, so thus it is best if she goes to a home where she will be the only cat. We did have a small dog, as pictured in one of the photos I've attached, that she did get along fairly well with but I am unsure how she will fair with bigger dogs (on the farm she lived at before she came to us she apparently got along well with the big dogs they had).
Some other facts about Whisper are as follows:
- She is completely black, except for a tiny tip of white on the end of her tail
-She is terrified of the outdoors, so thus she should strictly be an indoor cat
-Her favorite toys are feather wands, or anything dangling off a stick really -- she also likes laser pointers!
-She is NOT fixed, but has never had a litter of kittens
-She can function as a mouser, which is one of the reasons we originally got her as there was a mouse problem at the apartments we were staying at
-She is not the type of cat to hate affection -- she loves it and it's best you are willing to give her lots of pets!
-- To reiterate -- she does not like other cats, she even hissed at a kitten, please do not bring another cat into the house if you plan to make Whisper your new friend.
-She can open cupboards
Now I shall say a little bit about me -- and why Whisper is being put up here in the first place. To put it simply, over the course of having Whisper I have developed an allergy to cats... and it is getting continuously severe. At the time of getting Whisper, I was 14 years of age -- I was not allergic to cats at the time, did fine with her and she and I would constantly spend time together without issue, I also did okay with cats of friends/families. However, as I've gotten older an allergy towards cats -- and pretty much all animals with fur -- has started to develop and get progressively worse over time. I am now 20, and I cannot even share a room with her without getting sick and over the past few months it's seemed to only worsen. I've tried to cope for quite awhile, but at this point I've decided that finding Whisper a new place to live is the best decision for both of us.
You may think it selfish, but I don't think my allergies are only affecting my quality of life but Whispers as well. Since my allergies have gotten worse, Whisper has not gotten nearly as much attention as she used to, and that is unfair to her. At the time of getting her at age 14, I had no clue that allergies would develop, but 6 years later, here I am regrettably giving up my beloved friend.
What I want more than anything is for Whisper to be happy, and I think I can no longer be the thing that can provide that for her. She is a lovely cat that is so full of love, and I think with the right person she can find that happiness she once had again. I do not ask for money, all I ask is that you provide a loving home and take care of my friend until the end of her days. To give her the love she so rightfully deserves that I can sadly not provide to her in the way I want to.
With her I'll include some of her things, her bed, some of her favorite toys, treats and any remaining food/litter I have at the time of her pickup.
Thank you for reading, and feel to ask if you have any additional questions
