Clark Jungle Hammock Flex-180 + Underquilt + Vertex Tarp
Description
If you’re looking for the ultimate 4 season hammock setup, this is it. The Clark Jungle Hammock Flex 180 with Z Liner 180 underquilt and Vertex Tarp. This is brand new and never used.
I paid a little over $1000 for this setup, and later added the spreader bar and storage bag, exped dry bag for the underquilt, which is over $50, and 3 timp hitch suspension systems which cost about $125. I spent around $1200 for everything, and so selling for less than half price.
Clark Jungle Hammocks have always been considered one of the best in the industry and this was a special version that was designed to create the flattest solo bed possible. There is also a second bed that can be use for interior gear storage or a small occupant. The Z Liner underquilt is made from Climashield Apex and covers the bottom of the hammock for the solo user, diagonal or in single “bed” position. A secondary means of under insulation will be needed for a second occupant depending on temp.
The breathable WeatherShield zips in to transform the hammock into an enclosed tent, providing warmth, a wind break, or extra protection from rain and snow. It can also be set up as a ground tent.
Flexible tent poles make it very spacious and it comes with a bug net and weather shield.
It has a maximum weight limit of 700 lbs, but they list the safety and comfort weight limit as 300 lbs, and the maximum height of occupants is 6ft 6.
The packing weight is around 4lbs or 2kg.
The packing size is 40x19x13 cm
There are 3 tie out points but I purchased an aftermarket aluminum spreader bar so you only need 2 attachment points. I also bought a handy pouch for the spreader bar and tent poles.
This hammock is no longer available on the retail market. The owner of Clark Hammocks retired and Dutch over at Dutchware bought the company, but is only making a few of hammock designs, and not the Flex 180.
The non wicking rope has a strength rating of1700 lbs and come with drip rings. The 3rd “flex rope” has a 1200.lbs rating. You can also swap out the ropes for Dutchware’s Timp Hitch Suspension system, which I also bought for all 3 ends.
The tree straps are 2 inches wide. When I bought the hammock I also purchased a second set of everything, tent poles, tree straps, tie down cord, drip rings and rope as well as some silicone seam sealer. And it comes with an owners manual.
That Vertex Tarp is sil-nylon with catenary curves to shed wind and comes with tie out cords. It is 126 inches long and 116 inches wide at the widest point. This is 10.5 ft by 9.6 ft. It also has velcro on the ends so you can close it. Check Dutchwaregear website for more info.
And there are a few youtube videos on this hammock as well.
