My name is Sully, and I'm looking for someone who truly understands dogs like me.
I'm a one-year-old neutered Goldendoodle boy — fluffy, handsome, and full of potential. But I'll be honest with you, because you deserve that: I'm not an easy dog. And the family who loves me enough to let me go knows that the most loving thing they can do *for me* is find someone who truly gets dogs like me.
Let me tell you who I actually am, because I think you'll like me.
I am a total goofball. I will make you laugh — that much I can promise. I love my walks more than almost anything, and if you've got a good off-leash spot? I am *there* for it. My recall is excellent, which my family will happily brag about on my behalf. I'm not a velcro dog or a lap dog — I respect your personal space and I'd appreciate it if you respected mine. I'm selective about who gets to pet me, and I think that's actually pretty reasonable. I've been watching the cats in my house for months hoping they'll play with me. They won't. I remain hopeful.
My love language is a little more subtle: I'll lean into you. I'll wag my tail so hard you'll feel it in the room before you see me. I show up for my person in quiet, steady ways — and once you're mine, you'll know it.
But here's what we've learned about me: I don't thrive in chaos. The home I've been living in is full of love — but also kids, their friends, extended family, and the beautiful, busy noise that comes with all of that. For a dog wired like me, that constant stimulation became too much. My nervous system gets overwhelmed, and when I'm overwhelmed, my behaviour becomes unpredictable. It's not that I'm a bad dog — I'm a dog in the wrong environment. I currently wear a muzzle as a safety measure while the right home is found, and I deserve someone who understands that *context matters.*
I need someone who has been here before.
Not a first-time dog owner. Not a busy family home. **I need a calm, structured, quieter environment with an experienced handler** — someone who understands sensory overload and reactivity, reads dog body language fluently, and sees a project dog not as a problem, but as a puzzle worth solving.
What I ‘can’ offer the right person:
- I am only one year old — young, with a brain still developing and a story still being written
- I have a Goldendoodle's deep capacity for loyalty and connection
- Excellent recall and a love of outdoor adventures
- I will show up for you in my own quiet, steady way — every single day
