Appartement 41/2
Description
Fresh pictures taken as I just pulled out of heated, dry winter storage, looks just as good as when put away, and down on our beach. Meticulously looked after and winter stored since new. Wasn't on the street of this gaited community for 2 minutes before someone came out and started asking questions. It is like that everywhere I go, people wave to me as they pass, even on coming traffic. This is a fun truck meant to drive and enjoy and create conversation.
I am 77 and have had the truck for 38 years. Needs very little done and runs great. As with anything old, it does need a little tweak here and there, I have ran short of ambition and have ran out of friends who are willing to crawl around the garage floor for a couple of beers. To me this truck is a thrill to drive, if you get the feel and appreciation for it. It is like going back in time where every action creates a reaction. You turn the wheel it turns, touch the gas the exhaust cracks, change gears you feel the thrust, becomes an extension of yourself. At least to me it is a pleasure to drive. This is the feel of an old truck with a high performance engine. A little taste of HOT ROD.
I have 95% of the bills received over the past 38 years. This does not include cash work and good old camaraderie work/play. My family calls it the 'Million Dollar Truck'.
Drive Train: 351, rebuilt by McKerlie machine shop when they were on Horton St. in London. Has a cam and numerous other performance parts with 4 on the floor. I subsequently installed solid steel rockers, electronic ignition and Edelbrock carb, etc.
Runs on Mid grade and gets 18 mpg. Goes from 1000 rpm to 6000 rpm in seconds.
Also has a great Ford V8 sound though dual aluminium exhaust.
California Sound System: Looks like the original radio in the dash, but has phone, USB, bluetooth etc. Great sound system, although I seldom listen to it, prefer the noise of the truck.
I have numerous original parts that go with it.
If you want a great old Ford, $25,000.00. No stories no trades.
If you want a Concourse Classic, go see Larry Grogan's Classic Cars.
