Heavy Duty Equipment Technician
Description
Job Purpose:
Maintains logging equipment and trucks by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping records.
Duties:
* Check logging equipment and trucks for proper performance and inspect it to detect faults and malfunctions.
* Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
* Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools.
* Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer's specifications.
* Kowledge in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics, repair and overhaul.
* Repair and maintenance skills of fuel injection, exhaust, lubrication and engine control systems.
* Mechanical maintenance and repair skills to be able to troubleshoot problems and fix them.
* Keep maintenance records and documentation.
Skills/Qualifications:
Mechanical Inspection Tools, Technical Understanding, Attention to Detail, Dependability, Thoroughness, Verbal Communication, Documentation Skills, Job Knowledge. 3-5 years relevant experience. Relevant trade certification and/or diploma required.
This is a full time permanent position. Wage is $42.75 per hour, 40-50 hours per week, Overtime of $64.13 after 40 hours
Salary CAD 42.75 - 42.75 Hourly Rate
