Ethical Breeding
We are committed to ethical breeding which means that all our breeding cats are tested and cleared for common genetic issues for the breed. Our cats are cleared for PK-Def (PK Deficiency) and PRA (Bengal Progressive Retinal Atrophy). They are also tested and cleared for feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) which are diseases common in all cats. Our kittens will go home with a one year health guarantee for genetic conditions. Ethical breeding also means that we take good care of our cats and kittens giving them the best food and lots of love, attention and socialization which is critical to the personality and adjustment of any kitten. Our kittens don’t go home until 13 weeks of age so they have ample time with their mother and siblings. This helps them to be well adjusted and friendly kittens. Our kittens are raised in a house with children which will also help them adjust when they go to their forever home. We are careful to find loving homes for our kittens which is why we require an application form. Our cats go home spay or nutered, vaccinated and having had deworming medicine.
The breed
Bengals are friendly, loyal and highly intelligent cats. They can be trained to do tricks and walk on a leash. Be aware that if someone is selling bengals without tica registration there is no guarantee that your kitten will actually be a bengal. They are lovely leopard like cats that are great with kids and lots of fun to have around. They are a vocal breed with lots of different sounds such as chirrups, short bark like meows and yowls at times. They are highly active and require more attention and play time than your traditional tabby. If you are looking for a quiet lap cat, this is not the breed for you. They have beautiful markings on their fur. They can be spotted, rosetted or marbled which makes them look like baby leopards or in the case of marbled bengals-tigers! Bengals also sometimes have something called glitter in their fur. These are hollow hair shafts that catch the light indoors and out and gives their coat a glittery appearance. Not all bengals have this but both of our queens are glitter bengals. Please search online for more information about bengals and get informed before you make a decision to buy one. This amazing breed is delightful but not for everyone. Bengals are hypoallergenic, which means low allergy not no allergy. My two daughters and I are majorly allergic to cats and we do great with our three bengal kitties. One of my daughters had allergy symptoms for the first month we got each cat but is fine now. Not everyone with cat allergies will do well with bengals.
