Carpenter

Bill's Woodcutting Ltd. located at 711 Liard Avenue, Watson Lake, Yukon Y0A 1C0 is seeking an experienced carpenter. It's full time, permanent, 40 hours/week at 32/hour. We provide room and board, free parking available and transportation.

Work Location: Watson Lake, YT Y0A 1C0

The following will be the tasks/duties to be perform:
-Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
-Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
-Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
-Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
-Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
-Maintains shop environment, tools and equipment.
-Inspects and maintains job materials and supplies as required for assigned tasks.
-Performs site work including erection of lumber, conventional rough carpentry tasks, and may perform finish carpentry tasks.

Requirements:
-Must have completed high school or equivalent;
-Must have to 2 years to less than 3 years of experience;
-Must have a valid driver's licence;
-Must have excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize;
-Must be able to speak, read and write in English;
-Must be client focus, flexible, reliable, team player, punctual, and dependable;
-Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends;
-Must be willing to work in all weather conditions;
-Physically demanding, standing for extended periods, work with minimal supervision handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling;
-Must be able to provide at least one reference upon request.
