We are thrilled to inquire in advance with you and to share that Bill is coming to Newmarket on April 18th, 2024, from 12pm to 2pm at Chapters inside the Yonge Centre for an autograph session.
2024 BOOK SIGNING TOUR - IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE- Since first stepping in front of MuchMusic’s national cameras in 1992, Bill Welychka has become one of Canada’s most enduring, recognizable and respected television personalities. He is MuchMusic and MuchMoreMusic’s longest running VJ. Bill is renowned for his thoughtful interview style and his love and knowledge of a wide range of topics from pop-culture to politics, and his reputation has been rewarded by many exclusives and awards.
Bill Welychka has been hearing for decades “You should write a book!” Well, that book is here and ready to be enjoyed by his large number of ardent followers. Any fan of music (country, pop, rock, rap, metal etc.) will be entertained by his stories of hanging out with many of the industry’s biggest stars.
“A Happy Has-Been (Exciting Times and Lessons Learned by One of Canada's Foremost Entertainment Journalists)” dives into the many tales of spending time with Madonna (at her house),
Mick Jagger, Oasis, AC/DC, Johnny Cash, members of The Beatles, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Garth Brooks, Prince and dozens of other music legends.
Bill writes about his world travels from spending time with the Maasai warriors on the Serengeti to covering the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo, Monaco six years in a row. Despite a career that had him mobbed at concerts and meeting every single idol he had; Bill also opens up about his battles with depression. Also, this celebrated media icon shares the important life-lessons he has learned during his blessed life.2023 marked the 35th year of his dedication and insight to both sides of the camera including 12 years as Kingston Global News Morning producer and 2024 brings his career full circle, with a return to music broadcasting as Corus Entertainment Kingston’s newest 96.3 BIG FM Announcer & 104.3 Fresh Radio Music Director.
Bill has over 5,000 interviews under his belt (and growing!) including film and TV stars, royalty, politicians, athletes & innumerable music legends. 90s retro music is back in a big way and the timing of Bill’s book is perfect…he has been in demand the past several years to talk about music and trends on numerous Podcasts, and there is a new documentary about MuchMusic that was successfully released in September with a sold-out Canada-wide tour. Bill was interviewed extensively for this doc and made a few appearances along the tour, which aired to CRAVE in December 2023. For more info you can visit www.299queenstreetwest.com
There is also a film currently in production loosely based on Bill’s life.
Bill’s book proudly features a Foreword by The Tragically Hip’s Paul Langlois. + Partial proceeds from the book are being donated to the White Ribbon Campaign and various women’s shelters across Canada.

IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THE BOWIE LIVES: A David Bowie Spectacular
is ready to ROCK The Regent Theatre in Oshawa on June 3, 2022, at 8pm
It's been over two years since the pandemic and The Bowie Lives sold out the Regent Theatre in Oshawa, in March 2020, and they are excited to resume touring in 2022!
"5 Stars! Unbelievable!" says Richard Crouse, Host of CTV PopLife. “By far, the best & coolest Bowie Tribute I’ve seen!” says Sam Grosso, Cadillac Productions, Toronto Ontario. They're talking about "The Bowie Lives" Canada's most sensational Bowie Spectacular! Michael Bell is an award-winning vocalist who channels the sound and styles of David Bowie, and with the help of an all-star band, venue, and costumes to capture the imagination of fans young and old.
The love of Bowie began as a teen and then, later on, Michael created his first theatrical production called "ChangesAllBowie" which toured the "A circuit" in the '80s. He hung up his "Ziggy" in the early '90s and never imagined professionally performing Bowie again! However, after David's untimely death on January 10, 2016, his calling returned, as did the industry interest. Contacting long-time musical director Michael Beauclerc, they began auditioning players to fill out a band capable of performing some of rock's most challenging material. The Bowie Lives bring all the hits to the stage spanning 4 decades deep from Space Oddity to Lazarus, and everything in between.
The Bowie Lives, pre-show includes the Bowie Bazaar; collectibles bought and sold, put on Bowie make-up and costume props to help you get your Bowie on plus photo opportunities and so much more! Come in costume dressed as your favorite David Bowie persona! Fun for all ages.
Michael is also the subject of an upcoming documentary film Being David Bowie slated for release in 2022.
Put on your red shoes and dance the blues! For more information visit www.thebowielives.com./
