Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Youth Activities Worker for our inclusive social learning centre and outdoor programs. The program could include a mix between our PlayMakers Club and our ECO Programs.
As a Youth Activities Worker you will work with children, including neuro-diverse youth who may experience challenging behaviours, to provide them with engaging and enriching activities that promote their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Responsibilities:
-Plan and implement engaging activities and games for youth
-Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all group attendants
-Facilitate social and emotional learning through group activities
-Provide assistance and support to neurodiverse youth who may experience challenging behaviours as required
-Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's progress and behaviour
-Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the program
-Attend training and professional development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge
-Think proactively and outside the box to adapt activities and strategies to meet the needs of all children
-Outdoor skills and training is an asset
Requirements:
-High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in a related field preferred ● Previous experience working with children in group settings
-Experience working with neurodiverse youth who may experience challenging behaviours preferred
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to plan and lead engaging activities and games for groups of up to 20
-Understanding of social and emotional learning principles and techniques
-First aid certification required; training provided if necessary
-Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
This is a part-time position with the potential for full-time hours depending on program needs.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Position Title: Medieval Makers Camp Director
Job Description:
Medieval Makers is a summer camp program that aims to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for youth between the ages of 10-18 to explore the world of Dungeons and Dragons through various activities, including arts and handcrafts, active games, role-playing adventures, and team-building exercises. We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Camp Director to lead and coordinate the program.
Responsibilities:
● Plan and execute daily activities and schedules for the campers.
● Develop and implement curriculum for the arts and crafts, active games, and role-playing adventures.
● Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers and staff members.
● Manage and train camp staff to provide a fun and inclusive environment for campers.
● Communicate with parents and guardians about camp activities and camper progress.
● Organize and lead team-building exercises and outings.
● Monitor and manage budgets, resources, and supplies for the program.
● Be sensitive to the needs of neurodiverse youth and have experience with de-escalating challenging situations.
Qualifications:
● Experience working with youth and designing programs for youth development.
● Familiarity with Dungeons and Dragons and tabletop gaming culture.
● Experience working with neurodiverse youth and managing challenging situations.
● Strong leadership and communication skills.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
● Must be available to work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during the 6 week camp schedule - with options for more hours
● First aid certification required; training provided if necessary
