Description
The pups - 3 black males, three yellow males and 2 yellow females - were born on July 12 and will be ready to go to their new homes on Tuesday, Sept 6. Have the deposits for two of the yellow males and one of the yellow females.
This is a very nice litter of calm, confident pups with a variety of colors and sizes, very nice faces and lots of activity.
The pups received the Early Neurological Stimulation Exercises from day 3 thru day 16. These exercises mildly stimulate the puppy's nervous systems during their Dependent Stage when they are blind and deaf, only sense touch and taste and are completely dependent on their mother. I have been giving ENS exercises to my pups for years and see very confident and calm puppies because of the exercises. I understand most armed forces and police dogs must receive ENS exercises as it boosts the pups development and abilities.
The pups completed the Hello World stage in weeks three and four when their eyes opened, they developed hearing, got up on their four legs, started to teeth and gum moist puppy kibbles. They finished their Learning Life Skills in weeks five and six by exploring their environment and playing with their siblings. They continue learning to go to the bathroom on paper and how to get along with one another while developing their individual personalities. In weeks six and seven they will start their Socialization and Training when they will learn bite inhibition and figure out their place in their dog social structure. They are eating puppy kibbles in water. Training sit, come and other basic commands can start when they are eight weeks old and in their permanent homes.
The pups get played with and handled daily and interact with our seven other dogs.
On August 31, the pups were the feature attraction for a 2 hour Puppy Day at Ridge Meadows Hospital /Baillie House Care Home. Staff and residents spent time holding and petting the pups and many commented on how calm the pups were and how good the time with the pups made them feel.
Tessa, their five year old mother, is black and about 70 pounds This is her third litter. She is an excellent mom. Damian, their eleven and a half year old father, is yellow. He is a big gentle male. Damian and Tessa have been doing Therapy Dog visits at a hospital and care homes since they were about one year old.
Deworming the pups started on Aug 2 and they will get five treatments. The pups went to Dewdney Animal Hospital on Aug 22 for their first shots, medical checks and micro chips. Puppy visits/selections can start on Aug 25 once their shots have had time to become effective.
The last three pictures are Tessa - the mom, Damian - the dad, and big brother Jett.
