Divert NS is currently seeking two highly motivated team players to join our Warehouse Team for the upcoming busy summer season. Both positions are ideal for students enrolling in, or returning to, post-secondary studies in the fall. Working at our Processing/Warehouse Facility in Kemptown, Colchester County, you will have an integral role in managing materials collected under the Nova Scotia Deposit-Refund and Used Paint Programs. You’ll assist with receiving, storage, processing/baling, and shipping activities while supporting our province-wide Enviro-Depot™ Network. If you’re keen to experience first-hand how these programs keep used beverage containers and leftover paint out of landfills and are comfortable in a fast-paced warehouse environment, we invite you to apply for the position of Warehouse Worker – Summer Relief.

Wage: $16.47 per hourDuties/Responsibilities:
• Assist with off-loading of program materials from docked trailers;
• Assist with certain UBC processing activities;
• Sort certain UBC container types;
• Prepare and assist with loading of supplies for Enviro-Depot™ Network;
• Use of electronic scanners during off-loading/loading;
• Complete required daily paperwork and certain other record keeping duties as needed;
• Assist with general cleanup requirements of the warehouse and yard;
• Help to maintain a safe and healthy work environment; and
• Perform other duties as required by supervisors.Qualifications/Assets:
• Good communications skills – key for interacting in a team setting and with outside contractors;
• Good organizational skills – relevant to the operation of an efficient warehouse;
• Must have a valid driver’s license;
• Must have safety shoes – other personal protective equipment (PPE) is supplied;
• Capable of performing basic maintenance checks on equipment, e.g. forklift;
• Able to lift and/or drag items weighing up to 75 pounds*;
• Experience working in a warehouse environment would be considered an asset; and
• WHIMS, First Aid and Forklift Operator Certificates would be considered assets – training during employment term may be offered and/or required.

Our planting season starts mid-April to end of June for approximately 6-8 weeks and is heavily influenced by the weather. Our team must work together in a safe manner to complete the work.
Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Able to lift 50lbs regularly

Northern Pulp Forest Nursery
Position: Forest Nursery Worker
Start Date: April 10, 2023 (flexible with in the month of April)
Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday
Wage: $16.00/hour
Type: SeasonalThe nursery is a greenhouse operation for the forestry industry that grows roughly 6 million seedlings a year mostly for reforestation. All seedlings are grown on site for one or two years before being shipped out and planted in the bush or in privately owned Christmas tree lots.
Duties Include:
1. Work on a mechanical type seeding line as well as some manual seeding when required.
2. Relocate seeded flats and/or seedlings to and from greenhouses and within holding areas.
3. Thin and transplant newly germinated seedlings in jiffy flats.
4. Weed undesirable plants from seedling crops.
5. Root prune seedlings in jiffy flays using manual or mechanical root pruners.
6. Load trucks with full seedling trays for shipping.We are looking for individuals that are self motivated and versatile, someone that works well as a team member but also by themselves. A typical day is 8 hours, starting at 7:30am, Monday to Friday. Most days will be in a greenhouse, but other jobs can require work outside. This can change from day to day, so it is recommended that you bring extra clothes for all weather conditions.
The jobs can be physically demanding and might require you to stand for extended periods of time, lift 16kg repeatedly, or work in undesirable climates like rain or high temperatures. It is also required that all employees wear CSA approved safety footwear that extends above the ankle (not provided).

Conducting routine maintenance on rock crushers, including oiling, greasing, checking belts, changing rollers and screens, and other related tasks.
Undertaking minor repairs to conveyors, and other components of the production line.
In house training on Loaders and Rock trucks if required.The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
Mechanically inclined.
