Gorgeous Satin Angora Rabbits "Yarn Seeds" for Wool Production
Description
Gorgeous 13 week-old yarn seeds (purebred Satin Angoras from pedigreed parents) searching for a loving fibre-spinning home or homestead. I will delete the photos of the individual ones that have found their homes. $60 for one, $100 for two. Their wool, which is harvested when it sheds/moults without hurting or causing harm, is wonderfully soft, with lovely shine and crimp, and it blends beautifully with sheep, alpaca, mohair, and other wools. Excellent for dual/triple-purpose additions to a fibre-loving homestead (fibre, manure, table). They will reach about 8-9 lbs at maturity, depending on diet, though they will not grow as fast as something like New Zealands, as much of their energy goes to growing wool. Dam is lynx, sire is booted broken chocolate agouti (the last two pictures). Right now they're moulting their "fuzzy" baby coats, but once they shed them, they'll grow their lovely silky-soft mature coats. 4 Bucks Available: Broken Fawn, Broken Lynx, Fawn, Chocolate Agouti. These are NOT pets for young kids! They're fibre-producing livestock "woolers". We'll be selective of their new homes, as Angoras need regular grooming to stay healthy and thrive (though not as much as English or Giant Angoras), and I would not want them ending up in a shelter in a few months from now. I am happy to provide support and teach you how to groom and care for your Angora, as well as how to harvest the wool for you to spin into yarn or felt with it, like I do. Pickup is in Tatamagouche, NS, but could possibly deliver to Truro, Earltown, Malagash, or surrounding areas for a small fee. For farther away you'd have to arrange for your own transport.
