Lavender Meadows Hamstery is an ethical hamstery in Richmond, BC breeding Syrian hamsters to better their temperament, health, and physical type. We’re excited to announce that we offer live shipping across Canada. Of course, adopters will be vetted carefully and will be required to fill out an application. Please read this description to learn more about us! Shipping of the hamster will cost between 30-100 CAD depending on where you are in Canada. Most provinces cost $60.
We work specifically with rex hamsters and long haireds, in the colors of chocolate, rust, black, golden, yellow, and silver grey, and will be working with extreme dilute (import from US in May 2024) and polywhite rex (import from China in June 2024).
Our global waitlist is open to all hamster lovers in Canada. We do have strict expectations for hamster care though. Our hamsters are known for their chunky self (they hit 200g+ plus), and sassy, unique, and calm personalities.
We run off of a waitlist. Baby hamsters will be chosen at 4 weeks old and then at 6-8 weeks old will be able to go to their new homes. Our hamsters eat seed mix and lab blocks but also tons of human-grade foods including chicken, salmon, tuna, shrimp, kale, cucumber, carrots, and cabbage. Our hamsters have a drastic difference from those in pet stores because of their natural good temperament and their physical body type (bigger and broader face). We differ from pet stores because our hamsters are not from rodent mills and are not bred for profit. Our adopters have expressed great joy in the friendliness and longevity of our pups in contrast to pet store hamsters. We run off of a waitlist where the wait time is 2-5 months to ensure proper breeding practice. Read more in our website about how we care for our hamsters but this ad will explain how one would begin the adoption process.
The process:
1. Fill out the adoption application (link below). Message us on any of our platforms to speed up the reply process. There is a $15 non-refundable deposit that must be paid to hold your spot on the waitlist. This is deposit after we respond to your application (usually same day)2. During the waiting period, adopters are expected to research hamster care and gather the necessary supplies. We have an online shop for supplies!
3. When the pups are ready for adoption, you will be either matched with a pup or be able to choose. Pups are matched based on personalities and what you are looking for. All pups are usually well-socialized and great with handling. The total adoption fee is $80, with $15 deposit and the $65 remaining is to be paid at the time of adoption. An adoption contract is to be signed at the time of adoption. **adoption fee is negotiable in specific circumstances.

Looking for family-raised, tame, and healthy pedigreed baby Syrian hamsters? Consider Lavender Meadows Hamstery! We are in Richmond but our adopters are all across BC. Our waitlist is open for spring/summer 2024 as we are expecting lots of litters this season. All adoptions are based off the waitlist system (minimum 1-2 month wait) and require an application.
We are proud to be the only ethical breeder of Syrian hamsters in the Lower Mainland. We breed very selectively to produce the best quality Syrian hamsters that have a friendly, gentle, and natural kind temperament along with an improving lifespan (3+ years). 3 hours daily is spent socializing and caring for adults and babies from 14 days old onwards. All babies have been socialized with kids and people profusely. If you’re looking for hamsters that have been specifically bred for temperament and health, please reach out to us! Hamsters in the pet store are bred for quantity by rodent mills to make a profit. Mills maximize profits by using the smallest possible cages and cheapest supplies/food, thereby disregarding the well-being of hamsters. Mother hamsters are bred until they can’t be bred and then disposed of.
We work specifically with rex, long and short hairs, in the colours of chocolate, rust, black, golden, yellow, and silver grey. We also work with polywhite/banded patterns.
We do have high expectations for hamster care but no experience is required to adopt, only an open mindset!
Our hamsters are known for their chunky self (they hit 200g+ plus), and sassy, unique, and calm personalities. Our adopters have expressed great joy in the friendliness and longevity of our pups in contrast to pet store hamsters. This cost covers only a fraction of the amount that we spend on an average litter. Our hamsters are fed the best possible diets with fresh foods and all have large spacious enclosures.

While many sellers claim to be an "experienced breeder" to find a true ethical breeder, you should ask them about:
- The age the hamsters are rehoming at (most "breeders" rehome at 3-4 weeks which is WAY too early. this results in skittish hamsters)
- What they know about hamster genetics in depth. They should be able to give you an idea of how these genetics work and the genetics behind color combinations
- Diseases and illnesses in their hamster lines
- Pedigrees of the hamster lines including grandparents and great-great grandparents
- Sample pedigrees of the hamsters for proof of lineage

Dear Hamster Lovers across Canada,
Lavender Meadows Hamstery is an ethical hamstery in Vancouver, BC breeding Syrian hamsters to better their temperament, health, and physical type. We’re excited to announce that we offer live shipping across Canada. Of course, adopters will be vetted carefully and will be required to fill out an application. Please read this description to learn more about us! Shipping of the hamster will cost between 30-100 CAD depending on where you are in Canada. Most provinces cost $60 but pickup in Vancouver is at no cost.
We work specifically with rex hamsters and long haireds, in the colors of chocolate, rust, black, golden, yellow, and silver grey, and will be working with extreme dilute (import from US in May 2024) and polywhite rex (import from China in June 2024).
Our waitlist is open to all hamster lovers in Canada.

I am reaching out to share some exciting news from our home—our guinea pigs have recently welcomed a litter of adorable babies, and we are currently helping them find loving families.
Initially, when the guinea pig babies were born, we intended to raise them ourselves. However, as their numbers increased, it became challenging to manage, so now we're looking for loving new homes and caring owners for these guinea pig babies.
Most of the guinea pig babies have already found new homes, and the remaining ones are still searching for owners who share a connection with them.
Guinea pigs are known for their delightful and friendly personalities. These small rodents are social creatures that thrive on companionship, making them excellent pets for families and individuals alike. They are generally gentle, affectionate, and enjoy interacting with their human caretakers. Guinea pigs often display a curious nature and can form strong bonds with those who provide them with love and attention.
Additionally, guinea pigs are known for their vocalizations, expressing themselves through various squeaks and purrs. They appreciate a comfortable and secure environment and can be quite responsive to positive interactions. Their docile and amicable nature makes them suitable companions for individuals of all ages, fostering a warm and enjoyable relationship between pet and owner.
Our guinea pigs have gentle and affectionate personalities, making them wonderful companions for anyone seeking a furry friend. Each guinea pig is priced at $15, but we are open to negotiating the price for the right homes.
If you or someone you know is interested in adding a charming guinea pig to their family, please feel free to contact us email. We are available for communication in both English and Chinese.

Male Ruby Eyed Dove Syrian Hamster
Baby hamster born Feb. 1st ready to go to his forever home March 8th. (Can go a bit earlier)Hello, this is Purin
He's been hand tamed since birth, both his mom and dad are very cuddly. Mom is a short haired dark chocolate, and dad is a long haired black dominant spot. They're both het ruby eyed, decendents of hammies imported from Korea. This is my 7th generation, they don't have pedigree as it wasn't available at the time in Korea when I got my first hammies. They are not line bred or in bred, super friendly and healthy, and have a lifespan of 3~5 years.
Ruby eyed Syrians are one of the rarest morphs of syrian hamsters that exist. I have never seen one in canada, and there are only a few of them in Korea, Japan and some other countries. This is not albinism, no health defects related.
I will not answer careless inquiries that the answers already are in this ad, or questions asking if he's available. I will put the ad down once he's adopted.
When inquiring, please show respect, and tell me about yourself, experiences with hammies, what kind of setting you have for them and why you want to adopt one of my babies.
He comes with some food for transition.
Reservation fee: $30
Adoption fee: $90
Total: $120
Pickup is highly preferred, delivery available for $50/hr.

2 year old Holland Lop, male, neutered. He was bonded to another bunny of mine that passed recently. He does not seem depressed, but he's been hiding more and more these days because my kitten always wants to play with him. I know he is not in pain because he still comes out for treats, and at night when I visit him alone in his play area. He's very chill, would not leave his play area because he does not like hardwood floors and prefers to walk on rugs or mats instead. Can come with a big bin of hay, some treats, and his modified litterbox.
I'm not really wanting to give him away because we all love him, but I feel he is not living his best life. So I will be asking some questions if you are interested in taking him. I would prefer if you have experience with raising bunnies, especially if you have another bunny that could be his best friend. Please text me 7782290419 if you want more details. Thanks.

Hello everyone, I’m making the hardest decision to rehome my two chinchillas, Pickles and Charlie. We’ve had them for nearly 8 years now, so it’s a really tough decision to let them go, but unfortunately at our current situation, we’re unable to provide them with the care they need and deserve.
They are bonded and have shared the majority of their lives together, so please do not seperate them.
Included will be most of what they need: Critter Nation Cage, oxbow pellets, timothy hay, hides, ledges, a dust bath house, food bowl, bedding, etc. (wooden hides and ledges should be replaced, they’re pretty worn out from chewing)
Chinchillas are not for everyone, they are high maintenance animals who cannot be caged everyday and require lots of exercise out of the cage. They are not cuddly, but will tolerate minimal petting and holding.
We are hoping to find an experienced chinchilla owner or someone who is very knowledgeable. Please do extensive research as these animals are very fragile.
If you are interested, feel free to text me at 604-729-3949 or here sharing a bit about yourself and your experience/knowledge with chinchillas. We are in no rush to sell, only making sure these chinchillas find an exceptional, loving home.
As long as this ad is still up, Pickles and Charlie are available. Thank you!

It's very evident. It's taken 3 years of hard work for me to get to where I am today, do not steal my content. Please use your own words.

Hello,
I am looking for a loving forever home for my bonded bunnies Nano and Olive. They are both fixed and vaccinated but will need to be revaccinated soon. Nano is about 2.5 years old and Olive is about 2 years old. Nano was found as a baby abandoned and I bottle fed him. We later adopted Olive from a small rescue to be his partner. Both very sweet bunnies. Can come with all their supplies. We want them to go to a home where they will be loved and given more attention than we are able to provide them. This is not an easy decision so please no negative comments. They are indoor bunnies and we will be making sure they go to a safe home.
Thank you

Looking to rehome my 3 year old Waardenburg syndrome ferret casper. Casper is a fun loving creature who just wants to play. He has waardenburg syndrome which is basically a down syndrome in ferrets, he’s Deaf and also has a jaw problem which does not affect his ability to be himself or even play with other ferrets at all. He is the most playful ferret i’ve ever seen all he wants to do is just jump around. His jaw problem is stemmed from birth and doesnt affect him, although we feed him wet food so he has an easier time eating his food. I would prefer other ferrets be in the house i will be rehoming him to and it will be an extensive rehoming process because i want the best for him. Im going to college soon and unfortunately will not have enough time to care for him the way he deserves. He will come with his cage and many toys. I would like if you could meet me and casper to talk to me about your situation before i consider you. Thank you :) i have more pictures upon request!
