Translink Puts Your Life At Risk by Lack of Maintenance!
Description
Please call Translink to stop wrecking lives! This is how Translink deals with its customers on the first Snow Day of each year:
Hi,
All people who care for their own, and other peoples’ lives, change their cars’ tires to winter tires before the beginning of the winter. But Translink has been putting the lives of over 400,000 paying customers, drivers and hundreds of thousands more, of people on sidewalks and in cars, at risk; and also have all of us stranded for 3 to 5 hours on the first snow day of Every Year, by choosing to change the buses’ tires right on the first snow day of the year, Each Year. In this manner, all for no humane reason at all, they have put the lives of Translink’s customers and drivers at risk for years! They also have over 400,000 people stranded and freezing for 3 to 5 hours during one of the coldest days of the winter while Translink buses are sent to leisurely change their’ tires in those few hours, instead of having it done in the fall!
**Last Thursday was the first snow day of this winter. Our bus like all other Translink buses didn't have winter tires, and so on a ramp, on our way down to the highway the bus got out of control, but fortunately the driver managed to stop the bus and let all the passengers out by the roadside. As all other Translink buses where also stranded due to having no winter tires, instead of replacing our bus, Translink forced us all onto the roadside, where-from we had to hitchhike or call and wait for an hour in subzero temperatures for taxis to come and pick us up!
OTHER TRANSLINK’S HORRIFIC MAL-SERVICES INCLUDE:
Despite over $2 billion annual budget and charging the customers $105 to $190 for the monthly bus passes, Translink offers a third-world level vehicles and services; - *bus seats are more and more worn out and dirty, *the trip planning call centre agents are often in a nasty mood as their normal mood; *the bike racks are 90% of the time rusty (the cane/handle’s spring) and impossible to use, *the Skytrain’s heaters in 40% of the cars are broken, *the new drivers drive even more recklessly, *most their bus shelters are useless and shelter you from nothing, as unlike in other metropolitans, these have no walls to protect us from rain, snow or cold; or on windy days in extreme cold; *just check the new Phibbs Exchange construction project that is not more than a couple of million dollars worth, but costed us the taxpayers $30 million, with the shelters that have even taller roofs and zero walls, - worse than it was before the construction; .. *the bus schedules everywhere are often moved out of sink so that we cannot make our connections; and *in the winter Translink puts our lives at risk just because they enjoy having half a million people stranded instead of Translink doing its maintenance job as it should, - by changing the tires to winter tires in the fall, and fixing the heaters and the doors, - ahead of time!
This picture below is from North Shore News showing another bus slide and crash (https://www.nsnews.com/local-news/translink-ski-hills-get-ready-for-winter-3061489). As you can see, despite the newspaper trying to cover it up with sweet words, the picture clearly shows that the bus is on Summer Tires in the middle of the winter.
To protect yourself and the public please call Translink at 604-953-3333 and ask them to show respect for human lives, by doing their tire change and other maintenance ahead of time, not after snow days or breakdowns.
To survive Translink, people say you need two things; # 2- a very good health and life -insurance, and #1- good luck!
Thank you, and good luck!
Jim
