We are excited to introduce our beautiful litter of six puppies, born **June 25**. Three puppies are currently reserved, with **three puppies remaining** for carefully selected homes.

Puppies will be 35- 37 lbs and 16" to 19" in height. Ready to go home in and around August 27th.

### Meet the Parents
The mom, JJ, is a beautiful blue merle Australian Shepherd–Border Collie (**85% Australian Shepherd and 15% Border Collie**). DNA health tested. She comes from a strong line of intelligent, people-focused dogs used for **service and therapy work**. She is affectionate, intuitive, highly-biddable, agile and deeply connected to her family. She is 35 lbs and 19" high at the shoulder.

Their dad, Ned, is a handsome black tri Miniature Australian Shepherd registered with both the **AKC and CKC**. DNA health tested. He has a friendly, steady temperament and well-balanced structure. He has consistently produced well-balanced puppies with wonderful temperaments. Ned is 37 lbs and 16" high at the shoulder.

Puppies are expected to mature to between 35 -37 lbs and be between 16" - 19" high at the shoulder.

### Raised in the Heart of Our Home

Our puppies are born and raised inside our home as part of the family. They begin their lives in a whelping box in our bedroom for the first 3 weeks. Then move into the living room so they can become familiar with the sights, sounds, and movement of a busy home.

### Early Development and Socialization

From days 3 through 16, each puppy participates in **Early Neurological Stimulation and Early Scent Introduction**.

**Early Neurological Stimulation**, or ENS, consists of brief, gentle, age-appropriate exercises that expose puppies to mild physical stimulus during an important stage of neurological development. We use ENS to help support early resilience, adaptability, body awareness, and the ability to recover calmly from unfamiliar sensations.

**Early Scent Introduction** gently introduces the puppies to a variety of safe scents while their senses are developing. This encourages curiosity and engagement with their environment and may be particularly valuable for puppies with potential for service work, therapy work, scent activities, or dog sports.

ENS and scent exposure cannot guarantee a puppy’s future temperament or working ability, but they provide thoughtful early experiences that help build a strong developmental foundation.

As the puppies grow, they are raised using the **Puppy Culture Program**. This includes developmentally appropriate handling, enrichment, sensory exposure, problem-solving, confidence-building activities, early training foundations, and positive socialization.

From seven to eight weeks of age, the puppies also participate in **Pups Yoga Vancouver classes**. These classes provide additional positive exposure to new people, gentle handling, movement, sounds, and unfamiliar surroundings.

### Early Training Foundations

Before leaving for their forever homes, the puppies will be:

Litter trained
️ Crate trained for age-appropriate periods
Trained to **sit, wait, and come**
Introduced to the **down** command
Started on leash training
Completed several car rides

These are early foundations rather than finished behaviours. Continued consistency, patience, positive reinforcement, and age-appropriate training will be important after each puppy goes home.

### Follow Their Journey

Regular photos and videos are posted on our social-media pages so interested and approved families can watch the puppies grow. FaceTime visits are also available, allowing families to meet the puppies virtually and follow their development before final placements are made.

### Temperament-Based Placement

Each puppy is **Volhard Temperament Tested** at approximately seven weeks of age. The assessment provides a snapshot of where the puppy is developmentally at that point in time.

It helps identify each puppy’s current strengths, sensitivities, confidence, sociability, energy level, working characteristics, and areas where additional training or support may be beneficial.

The results may also help identify traits relevant to future service or therapy work. However, temperament testing cannot guarantee a puppy’s adult personality or suitability as a service dog. Temperament continues to develop and is influenced by training, socialization, environment, health, and life experiences.

We use the assessment alongside our daily observations of the puppies to make thoughtful and informed placement decisions.

We do not place puppies based on colour and gender alone. A family’s preferences are always considered, but our first priority is finding the **absolute best fit for each individual puppy**.

We carefully consider:

The puppy’s temperament, strengths, and individual needs
Areas where the puppy may require additional training or support
The family’s lifestyle and household
Experience with intelligent and active breeds
Children and other animals in the home
Activity level and training plans
Interest in companionship, dog sports, farm work, therapy work, or service-dog development

Final puppy placements will be determined closer to seven weeks of age, after we have had time to observe the puppies’ developing personalities and complete their temperament assessments.

### Going Home

Puppies will be ready to join their new families between **eight and nine weeks of age**. In and around August 27th.

Each puppy will leave for their new home with:

A veterinary examination
Age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming
Health and veterinary records
Early socialization and enrichment
Starter food
A familiar comfort item

The first month in a new home is an important transition period. We help families establish routines, continue crate and litter training, support healthy bonding, introduce training gradually, and help their puppy settle into family life with confidence.

### Puppy Applications

Interested families are asked to complete a **puppy application** so we can learn more about their household, lifestyle, experience with dogs, activity level, training plans, and the type of companion they hope to welcome.

These puppies are expected to be intelligent, affectionate, loyal, active, and highly people-oriented companions. Depending on the individual puppy’s temperament and strengths, they may be well suited to family life, outdoor adventures, dog sports, farm work, therapy work, or service-dog development.
