We are looking for a 36’ to 39’ monohull cruising sailboat; preferably post-2000
Impeccably maintained including record-keeping. Structurally and mechanically sound in every aspect, including recent haul out inspection and survey. Clean. Prefer keel-stepped mast. Suitable for cruising in our Pacific Northwest waters & climate.
Must-have qualities: current sails, bimini, dodger, cockpit enclosure; tender and motor, fenders, dock & mooring lines, ample anchor rode & chain, electric windlass, sound lifelines & non-slip deck, all electronics in solid working condition, including autopilot, assumable moorage or a new spot in a marina would be grand!
All sail controls lead aft to cockpit through rope stoppers and clutches with lines in good condition; mainsheet traveller, low engine hours, newer batteries.
2 cabins, 1 head, diesel heater/furnace, lots of natural and interior light; more than 6’3” headroom
Models of interest include: Hunter 38, 36, 376, 356; Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 389, 379, 349, 39DS; Catalina 36 (MKII), 375, 387; Bavaria Vision 40, cruiser 37; Hanse 400 cruiser, 370, 371; Beneteau Oceanis 361, 38.1, 393, 40; Marlow-Hunter 37. Deck Salon or Centre Cockpit models also desirable.
Desirable features: electric head, winter boat cover, dinghy davits & outboard motor lift & storage mount, large aft storage locker, prefer not to have teak side decks, cockpit cushions that float, walkthrough transom, one electric winch, gimballed stove with oven, SS BBQ, watermaker, generator.
In offering to purchase a sailboat, we would want a current survey, a rigging inspection, and a sea trial.
We would prefer to buy a Canadian registered boat.
After a decade of sailing lessons and charters, we are ready to pursue our dream to own a cruising sailboat, and become more proficient sailors.
