Job Description:Job Description Exciting opportunity in the heart of the Davie Village!!!! We are looking for a Sous Chef/Line Cook, for a new restaurant and bar on Davie Street. The MED Grill & Bar will be where Greek fans can find our take on modern Greek and Mediterranean-inspired food. We are an 80-seat restaurant including a small patio in the summer months. Our menu will be focused on using seasonal produce and bringing a new fresh take to the Davie Street area. Open daily, we will offer a wide selection of craft beers, great wines, and a full bar with seasonal cocktails. We are fun with a modern pop art vibe, great music and fun atmosphere that hasn’t existed in the west end yet. A Santorini vacation at your doorstep. Working with our head chef, you will have an abundance of support with the back of house operations and systems as well as inventory and cost control procedures. This would be a great opportunity for a sous chef looking to train with an experienced chef of 25 years in the industry or a strong Kichen staff looking to take the next big step. We look forward to hearing from you. Experience with costing programs such as MarketMan and Optimum Control is an asset. Requirements:* Creative ability to apply current on-trend food items and presentations to food service operations. * Hard-working, hands-on team player.* Good communication skills (written and verbal).* Maintains systems & procedures for ordering, receiving storage, preparation & service of food. * Must have a valid Canadian work permit. Experience: Cooking: 2 years Kitchen leadership/management: 1 year.Food Safety Level 1 is required. More info: Staff meal.Benefits:Extended healthcare plan.Staff discount on food.
