**Part-Time Psychology Assistant / Psychometrist**
**Location:** Vancouver, BC
**Position:** Part-time employee
**Hours:** Approximately 6–10 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours as the role develops
**Compensation:** $28–$38 per hour, depending on education, training, and experience
**Work arrangement:** Combination of in-person and remote work
A growing Vancouver psychology practice is seeking a reliable, organized, and clinically minded part-time Psychology Assistant/Psychometrist. This position would be particularly well suited to a graduate student in clinical, counselling, school, developmental, educational, or health psychology who is interested in gaining further experience in psychological assessment, clinical practice, and research.
The role combines client coordination, psychological assessment support, and research assistance. Training and supervision will be provided for a strong applicant who does not yet have experience with every assessment measure listed below.
**Primary Responsibilities**
**Client coordination and practice support**
* Communicating professionally with clients and families
* Coordinating assessment appointments and distributing forms
* Tracking questionnaires, consent forms, collateral records, and other required materials
* Communicating with schools, physicians, and other professionals when appropriately authorized
* Supporting the organization and preparation of assessment files
* Maintaining accurate, confidential, and timely records
* Assisting with other practice-related administrative duties as needed
**Psychometrist and assessment duties**
* Administering and scoring standardized psychological and psychoeducational measures under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist
* Supporting assessments involving children, adolescents, and adults
* Assisting with behavioural observations, structured interviews, collateral information, and test-data organization
* Preparing scoring summaries, tables, and other assessment materials
* Helping ensure that assessment protocols and records are complete and accurate
Measures may include:
* WISC-V
* WIAT-4
* WRAML-3
* BASC-3
* Conners rating scales
* Vineland-3
* K-SADS
* ABAS-3
* Other cognitive, academic, memory, behavioural, adaptive-functioning, and diagnostic measures
Previous assessment experience is preferred but is not required. Applicants with a suitable academic background, strong interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated ability to learn standardized procedures carefully are encouraged to apply.
**Research support**
* Conducting literature searches and organizing academic sources
* Assisting with reference management and manuscript preparation
* Supporting research ethics applications, data organization, and study documentation
* Entering, cleaning, and organizing research data
* Assisting with reports, presentations, grant materials, or knowledge-translation projects
* Supporting other research tasks based on the applicant’s skills and experience
**Minimum qualifications**
* Completed bachelor’s degree in psychology, health sciences, or a closely related field
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organizational and time-management abilities
* Professional judgment and comfort interacting with clients and families
* Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive clinical information
* Dependability, initiative, and willingness to receive feedback
* Ability to work independently while recognizing when consultation is required
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and shared electronic documents
**Preference will be given to applicants who**
* Are currently enrolled in a relevant graduate program, including clinical, counselling, school, developmental, educational, or health psychology
* Have previous experience administering or scoring standardized psychological tests
* Have experience working with children, adolescents, or families
* Have research-assistant or laboratory experience
* Are familiar with SPSS, R, Qualtrics, Zotero, EndNote, or similar research tools
* Have knowledge of psychoeducational assessment, neurodevelopmental conditions, mental health, or sexual-health research
* Have worked in a psychology, healthcare, school, academic, or professional-services setting
The successful applicant will receive appropriate training and supervision. Assessment duties will be assigned according to the employee’s demonstrated competence, education, and experience.
