Lead Hand, Machine Operator
$49,464.27 - $55,838.67 annually
This position operates and maintains a variety of light to heavy-duty machinery and equipment and carries out routine site and building maintenance functions to further the production of high quality genetically improved seed and excellence in seed orchard operations.

Qualifications for this role include:
• Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining farm or agricultural tractors (up to 90hp) and equipment.
• Experience servicing gas and diesel engines.
• Willingness and ability to work with pesticides/toxic chemicals; at heights using lifts and ladders; irregular hours for call-outs to address snow clearing emergencies and to meet critical operational windows
• Valid class 5 driver’s license.
• Preference may be given to applicants with building maintenance, irrigation, plumbing, electrical, fabrication or welding experience.
• Preference may be given to applicants with knowledge and experience with transportation safety rules and the Motor Vehicle Act regulations as applied to vehicles and machinery.
• Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following tickets: Pesticide Applicator Certificate, Skid Steer Training, Tractor Safety Awareness Course, Occupational First Aid Training, ATV Safety Course, Snowmobile Operators Training, S-100 Basic Fire Suppression and Safety Training, Welding Training, Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Operators Training, Fall Protection Training, or Basic Chainsaw Operator Training.
